Caps just keep winning

The Caps are now riding a 4 game winning streak and are now trying to check Boston out of first in the East but they have to play great. they beat the Sabres tonight 4-2 in Buffalo. To the Scoring starting things off right for the Caps was Brooks Laich on the PP when he got a juicy rebound and backhanded past Miller to start the goal rush his )11th) assisted by Kozlov and Backstrom. Then Chris Bourque would shoot in a long rebound off a STeckel slapper his (1st) congardulations rook alzner comes to mind assisted by Steckel and Fehr. 2-0. The Caps were not done scoring goals though as they would stertch things to 3-0 when Kozlov got a rebpound faked the shot and slid a pass to Backstrom who hit nothing but net as the Caps wouls score another powerplay goal his (11th) assiested by Kozlov and Green. Mair for Buffalo would get a breakaway and flip one high and in past Thjeodore 3-1. Boyd hit and empty net after gaining control of the puck off a steal he fired the puck rink long and it bounced in his (4th) unassiested. With just ten secomnds left Buffalo would beat Jose again this time Mcarthur would slide a rebound past Theodore after the puck was deflected it bounced wealy off theodore's pads and right to the waiting Sabre. 4-2 finish with Bakcstrom top star honors Kozlov 2nd and gaustad 3rd. WHo Mike Jones Jose had 31 saves and palyed very well tonight would have got an A but that last one where he did not kick the rebound way out was not his fault he kicked early when the puck sghould have arrived but it eventually showed up at the net and bounced feebly. He's now earned the #1 golaie spot on this Caps team playing similary like Brent Johnson. Lret's go Caps. 51 points pummeling the Southeast 2nd in the Eats and hoping Boston falls off. BNoston tonigh bet Pittsburgh Damn. Your Caps now 24-11-3 and playing their game. they have got the stars and now they are getting splendid goaltending to boot. Terps Run Nevada to the bowl

Nevada was beaten in this one pretty much the whole game as the Terps held 14 point leads early and late. Penalties gave Nevada extra oppurtunities when tehy otherwise would have been done and the Terps finally got the ball at the end and Darrell Scott completed a superb day running for about 25 on the last play where the Teprs could then just kneel the ball down. talking abot Scott's day he ran 14 times for get this 174 yards and 2 TDs on a 12.4 yard avg and a long of 49 just a great game from an all ACC player. Chris Turner 13-27 for 199 yards 2 TD and a pick. Adrian Cannon caught a ball and then ran 59 yards for a score Ronnie Tyler caught aTD late in the first half Heyward Bey had 4 catches for 48 but fumbled a reverse. Torrey SMITH returned a kickoff 99 yards for a score. Obi missed and extra point but the Terps convereted a 2 point play. Greta win for Maryland as they finish 8-5 and should field a strong team in next year's ACC a game in which the Terps should have a great chance of playing in the ACC championship game. We'll just have to wait til next fall because this was the final football game of the year for me as fan of the balling that the Terps and SKins do. Humanitarioan Bowl victors are the MArykland Terrapins.

Georgetown take down #2 Uconn

Georgetown played great and held a large lead throughout most of this Big East showdown. They were led by Dajuan Summers who had 18 Monroe the Freshman had 16 as did Chris Wright and Austin had 13. Sapp had just 5 but hit a big three. The Hoyas were outrebounded but defended against and shot the three weel holding UConn to just 3-10 while they were 6-13 beyond the arc. 18-21 were the Hoyas from the line and Uconn was 16-22 that's 85.7% vs 72.7%. ANother key to Geopregtown's 11 point W. This team was 8th in the country heading in and after knocking off a number 2 team they most certainly will be close to the top if bnot second themselves next time the poil.ls come out. They next face Pitt on Sat the #3 team in the nation.

Caps knock off Toronto again

The Caps have won three straight again and are just winning over and over agin. This time the defeat Toroto again 4-1. Toronto got the first gaol but that would be all they could muster a Hagman shot that bounced right to him which he fired in. The Caps would tie on a a PP goial by Laich who got the pass on the side of the net went in front and slid the puck past the blocker of Toskala and tied things at 1-1 his (9th) assisted by Backstrom and Green. Ovechkin would score late in the 2nd on a wrister that bounced off the glove and went in his (24th) assisted by Jurcina. Then Laich would give the Caps a pretty copmfy 3-1 lead when he got the rebound after his first shot and whipped it in pas a layed out Toscala. his (10TH) ASSISTED by noone and just about 5 miinutes remaining. The Caaps score an empty netter when Ovechkin gets the puck skates past the blue line and fires the puck into the wide open net his (25th) assisted by Backstrom and Green. game over 4-1 who they want Caps Caps Caps.Laich was furst star Ovechkin was 2nd and Theodore who allowed just the opening goal was third star with 23 saves. Keep going and winning Caps and you mighht just get to the top of the East.

Caps win again this time vs Buffalo

The Caps have won two straight (not 12 starights that's what Brashear did to Cote in that Flyers debacle). Defenseman Helmer was first star with 2 assists and i klearned he was once a highly touted prospect with the Devils. Jose Theodore was spectacular at times allowing just two goals both would have been amazing if he could have maded just one of them i would have hit the roof. Now tot he scoring. The first goal was Kozlov getting fed and slapping a shot past Lalime 7 hole in between the blocker and glove a great shot from Vik (his 9th) assisited by Backstrom and Helmer. That gives Nik two good options to pass to on that top line AO and Viktor. That goal was 38 minutes into the game and gave the Caps a lead they would never relenquish. Then a gaol originally given to Brashear was correctly given to Boyd Gordon (his 3rd) on a redirect on a shot from the point off a faceoff win, asssietd by Jurcina. Then the Sabres were given some hope when they setup a to on one where Theodore could not kick out Vanek's shot but had he made that save it would have been a ten beller as Craigh Laughlin up in the booth likes to say. 2-1 Caps. Then Ovechkin would get the puck in the D zone and race past defenders deke backhanded pass to himself past the last one and while sliding on his tummy wristed a shot that would score bottom corner and make things 3-1 (his 23rd) Assisited by Helmer. In the final two minutes Afinogonev defelected a wide shot past Theodore although to me it looked like he kicked it in but the goal was not reviwed. They woul;d pull the gaolie but they would not score and the Caps would not find a empty net goal in their stockings either as AO's only chance went wide for an icing. Brashear was second star and guess who Ovechkin was the third. Theodre made 22 saves and won. The Caps are now tied for second in the Eastern Conference and need to make a push to become top seed becasue right now they would face either Pittsburgh or New Jersey and Buffalo is 8th Philly and Montreal are up there too but I would love to see the Caps carch and overtake Boston for Eastern Conference Supremacy.

Capitals make a great comeback vs NYRangers and win in OT

Bad news Caps give up a point to the Rangers. Good news they pick up apoint on the 2nd in the Esatr squad and trail by 2 points with 2 fewer games played. The Caps cpuld reach to be 2nd soon as only a win would tie them with NYRangers. Caps tariled 4-0 in this one before Jose tHodore said enough to the rangers offense in thte thirs witha a handful of great saves. Ovechkin (goal 21) fired one that looped over Lundvikst gl;ove and went in to give the Caps life and make things 4-1 (assisets buy Backstrom. Then Fleichman (goal 12) would deflect a Backstrom shot form the point and make it 4-2 (on the PP assisted by Backstrom and Laich). Then Kozlov would get a feed and beat Henrik off the post and in (assited by Backstrom and Ovechkin PP marker as Bacjkstrom gave a him a greta feed and he scored (his 8th . then Ovechklin would pick a pass off with his hand drop it in front him and have a breakaway goal as he dedked and flipped it in tro tie things up (unassisted (goal 22). Then the only Cap not to score a gaol Helmer hasn;t eitehr but hey he hasn;'t eben here the whole season Shaone Morrison fired a pass that was boprke up the puck was left to him to fire a salpper to score ewraly in OT (his firts assisted by Nylander and COllins who got his first point. He hasn;t scored a goal either bu is fresh in the sysytem. 5-4 Caps win./ What a greta comebakc HUH.Ovecghkin was first star Morrsion was 2nd and Collins third Theodore made 21 saves and Johnson made thrree in his brief stint out there. Caps sxored 2 PP goals on five tries and NY was 0-3 so good special teams for the Caps. Caps faec Sabres dya after Christmas so this win should give Dcers a merry and happy one especially if I get an Ovechkin jeresye or even w Wizards jersey i'll takes a Caps AO please Santa. whiet or red. Happy Holidays sho boy

Skins beat Philly twice in home finale

The SKins got great efforts from Jason Taylor 55 both Redskins sacks and a FF that Fletch recovered ran 12 yards and was feet cuffed by Eagles center. Portis setup his own TD after bulling his way for 5 he punched it in from the 1. Moss was good as was Cooley and Fred Davis and Devin Thomas each had important catches. Portis had 70 yards on 22 carries 3.2 and Devin's catch was good for 17 as JC foound on the sidseline. He was open again but Cambell underthrew a ball that should have been picked off. Cambell used his l;egs sparsley but got 28 yards on 2 carries but maybe could have run another or a fourth time he sure is an avid scrmabler (sound s like a bvoard game or somethibng. Moss had 5 grabs for 28 yards and Cooley 4 for 28. Betts led in receptions with 5 for 43. Westbrook caught a 47 yarder while being covered bya D lineman and thatw as Philly's best play. TRandele ele cUaght an 11 yarder as did Portis. PklCKMEIR had 5 points inside the 10 and that really gave the SKins good field postion several times. The last play was the biggest as some figured the Elagles would have at least two maybe 3 shots at the enedszone as long as they did not get tackled before it but that's what happened as SMoot and Landry converged on Brown just shy of the goaline as the hits jarred him akll the way back to the five as he was just short and Philly could not kill the clock and had jsut that one chance bad play on their part even though it was a foirstand goal at the 1 if they could have used a TO whhich they did not have. 8-7 are the SKins and try to finish a winner at Frisco in a late 4:15 start next SUnday. early reports have Zorn staying to cich a secoibnd season as SKins HEad Coach,.

Caps Stretch Win STreak to 5

The Caps just won their 5th staright this time beation up the Blues of St Louis 4-2. The Caps struck first with a goal by Viktoir Kozlov on a wicked wrister (6th goal) top shelf near post. 1-0 Caps. Assitesd by Backstrom. The Blues would tie it on a nice deflection between Varlamov legs 5 holer from Backes. Then the Caps would retake the lead on a stuff in again from Kozlov after he made a great pass to a driving Boyd Gordon who gtried to deke the goalie but lost the puck in the crease for the big Russian to stuff in (7th goal). Assited by Gordon and Poti. Then just 40 seconds later Fleichman (11 goals) would be fed in great position alone and in front of the net only a few feet from the gaol and would fire a wrister off the post maybe both posts and in Assisted by Fehr and Steckel. The Caps would be on a powerplay and jsut 13 seconds of work would be long ewnough for ALexander Ovechkin to fire a wrister tiop shelf far post past Bishop (20th gaol and Caps 20th victory) Assisted by Kozlov and Semin. SOme minor injuries Alex Semin left the game in the middle of the third at least they lost him late and I heard Mike Green did not play at all in the third. Rookie Simeon Varlamov made just the 2nd start of his career and won his 2nd straight giving up just 2 goals and making 29 saves that's 61 of 64 saves to shots. Great start fro the Russian rookie who was the youngest ever Russian gaolie to win his first start. He was the 2nd star Kozlov with his two gaols and an assist was first star and ALezander the Great Ovechkin (GREAT EIGHT) was third star with his goal. Now the goaltending situation gets very interesting and hard for Boudreau who has 2 top shelf great hot gaolies who will he choose to start Saturday noon vs the Flyers who the Caps are looking to pay back for their early playoff exit last season. I"d satrt Varlamov cuz he has been a klittle bit hotter and Johnson surrendered 4 goals his last outing but both have been great at keeping the puck out of the net.

Caps win again victim Islanders

The Caps have now beaten the Islanders the last two times they have played. They started off with a tough goal scored on a wrap around attempt that Boyd Gordon would eventually stiff into the net (assisted by Brashear Steckle.) Then it would be two nothing once Brooks Laich drove to the net lost the puck but it would slide pas a poke check by goalie Mcdonald and go 5 hole (assisted by Green and Johnson). The Islanders would fire back and get a goal from Weight who got a lucky deflection off Poti's stick. The Caps woould then make it 3-1 with a goal from Jurcina froma shot from D lnad the point that would beat Mcdonald far post. (assisted by ALZNER ANd Kozlov) The Islanders would make things three two on a goal from Park. Ovechkin would make it 4-2 on a sweet behind the bakc backhand from Semin which AO would fire into the net whoich was pretty wide open after the great Smein feed (assisted by Semin and Backstrom). The Islanders would score twice in the 3rd one very late with about two minutes left gaols by Sutton and SIm. Ovechkin would get the last laugh and the gamewiiner in OT after hitting the post on a backhand he got another chance late Backstrom would feed AO until Ovechkin found a shooting lane he liked and snapped a wrister passed Mcdonald top shelf far post and the Caps won there 4th staright. AO first star Park 2nd and ALzner 3rd. Johnson stopped 35 shots as he was busier than usual tonight. They lead the SE by 8 over Caroilina and ten by Florida. They next face the St Louis Blues at home and hope to continue there now 4 game W STreak and make it 5 vs St Louis. LET"S GO CAPS!!!!!

Caps Win vs Montreal 2-1

Well look what the Caps keep doing winning. Varlomov the rookie goalie for the Caps was just spectaculiar tonight with 32 saves and one goal allowed. He was the vaunted first star in just his first start and got his very first win. The Caps scored on an early PP with Nik Backstrom netting one( assisted by Ovechkin and Semin). Montreal would tie on a 4 on 4 goal from Briesbros. But late in the third the Caps scored the most important goal one on a rebound follow from Nylander which he got a stick on and the puck hit the goalie and was then hit in on the follow. (who got it Nylander on a greta play (assisted by Giroux and Kozlov. That's how it would end with a 2-1 margin for the Caps. Nylander was awqarded the 2nd star and Havlak Montreal's goalie got third. The Caps now have 39 points which is third overall in the East and tops in the Southeast division 8 ahead of Florida and Carolina. The Caps now have a three game win streak and in interessting situation with Varlomov who could replace Jose Theodore on the Caps bench as a top reserve goalie. He was great in ythe 08 and might just get Theodore to a new location. The csaps are 18-10-3 and hust barley avoided an OT tonight vs Monteral tehy next face the NY ISlanders on Tuesday on Versus. That should be a good tilt as the Caps are hungry to get to second or first in the East as they trail the NY Rangers by 3 points but have played 2 less games than NY. Boston is first with 46 7 ahead of the Cpas but also a team they Caps recently conquered. Caps another fine performance and yet anothervictory in what has been a very successful sewason thus far for them. Federov dealt with another injury setvack but should be fine and miss no time.

Caps Whoop Ottawa 5-1

This game was outright domination by the Caps. WHen they weren't hitting the back of the net they were usually hitting the post. Ovechkin 2 goals and 2 hit posts. Poti hit a post. Matt Bradley hit the post. A guy from the Sens hit the post Nick Foligno. The first gaol was a great one by Semin who recievd a pass then skated towrds the net went backhand around the goalie and lit the lamp for a 1-0 advantage )assisted by Backstrom, Green). Later Laich what get a pass at the the blue line and fire a slapper into the back of the net. (assitsted by Bradley Federov) Then Ovechkin would get a goal after he skated in aim to try and find a lane to the net he found one and fired a slapper on the PP behind Auld 3-0 assisted by Poti and Green). Gerioux would have a marvelous chance being in front of the gaol with the puck and time he nearly scored another. The Caps had more goals to score even with a hefty lead going into the third and both would be PP gaols of similar setups. Green fired a one timer top shelf to make it 4-0 (asssisted by Backstrom and Federov) Then Ovechkin would fire a cross ice pass one timer 7 hole to make it 5-0 (assietd by Backstrrom and Federov). Very late the Sens would mar Brent Johnson's Shutout bid one Foligno backhanded a pass towrsd the front of the net and a Sen pushed it passed the goalie. Your final 5-1 in gfavor of the Caps who really blew away the competition in this one. Brent Jonhnson was the first star and made 32 saves only allowoing the 1 goal late. Mike Green was the second star witha gaol and 2 assists. ANd Federov was the third star with three assists. Alex Ovechkin and had 2 goals amnd 1 assist but really could have beenn top star tonight and Semin had the great backhander drive to the net to get the Caps started off on the right note with the always huge first gaol. Caps are 8 points ahead of everybody in thie3r division as Florida is trying now to draw eevn with Carolina but both trail one by 6 and the other by 7. Caps play back to back now facing Montreal and a big thing to find out is who will get the start I think coach Bruce should stick with the hot goalie that of course being Brent Johnson (BJ)

Caps Beat Bruins 3-1

The Caps tonight found a way to beat the Eastern Conference's leading squad the Boston Bruins. The Caps struck first on a beatiful deflection off backstrom's stick on an Ovechkin shot on the PP (assisted by Ovechkin and Kozlov). The Caps also welcomed back Semin and Poti to their lineup and hopefully will have Mike Green back in there next match. The Caps would make the score 2-0 on a great setup from Poti a gave a touch pass to Kozlov a ripped a one timer off Fernandez's pads that rookie Hershey call-up Alexandre Giroux would wrist in a shot he stuck with off the pads of the gaolie then off the post and in (assisted by Kozlov and Poti). However late in the second the Bruins go a late strike while the Caps were in a line change (don't you just hate that) and had only one defemnder on a 2 on 1 that Lucic would fire top center (water bottle) over Johnson. 2-1 going in the third and there would be no scoring until late when the Bruins pulled their gaolie trailing by one and needing a gaol. However it would be thje Caps that capitalize. ALexander Semin stole the puck from a Bruin D man and passed to AO who would niftly tap the puck forward and reeclaim it to hit the empty net and make things 3-1 with 51 seeconds left all but sealing the W fro the Caps. assisted by Semin and Backstrom). Johnson made 33 saves and was the games first star. Giroux was the second with his goal and he also had a penalty shot but hit it just wide of the goal. Kessler was the third star with an assist. The Caps are now once again six points ahead of idle Carolina who has a game tommorow (hopefully they lose and give the Caps even more breathing room as the SOutheast's Best squad). Johnson is palying so well that I think he is giivng Bruce Boudreau an easy amnswer to who should be the Caps #1 gaolie playing his way ahead of Jose Theodore who hasn't been as outstanding. He has a 2.50 GAA and a save % of .913 and is 7-4-2. Caps win 3-1 and beat the East's best. Great game evrybody get some rest and get ready for Ottawa.

Wiz Pound Pistons

The Wiz trailed big early in this one but fought back valiantly and found a way to own the game for three quarters. AFter being down 17 the cut the lead to three at half time on a last second lay in from CB (Caron Butler Tough Juice). CB was point champ as he usually is with a box score total of 45 as he had 33 6, 5 and 2 and the WIz cut big contributions off the bench from Juan who played his way in my opion back into the roation and I think he should start Blatche was big with 8 on 4-6 and a big dunk tap. Mcguire was perfect from the field and also had a dunk tap 3-3. Dixon had 16 and made two threes. Darius was 7-13 and had 15. Jamison struggled but finished with 10 and 11 on 4-12 shooting. The Wiz are now 4-15 and the final was 107-94. Detroit's a very good team but tonight the Wiz were alot better than them.

Wiz fall on last shot miss by Butler

Let me say this in the Wiz's early season slide they are almost always in it to the last couple seconds and vs Western Conference Powerhouse LA the Lakers of course nbot the Clips, Butler took a three at the end that would have given the Wiz a remarkable comeback win. The Wiz trailed LA by 19 with about 8 minutes to go but fought back admiarbly. Kobe didn't shoot well 5-17 but made all but his final free throw 13-14 and that give Butler a final three attempt where he pumped faked one guy into the Suites at Verizon but another stuck his hand out at Butler and may have altered the shot that hit front rim and missed. Butler had a game high 26 and is point champ once again with a combined box score of 42. He's a player no doubt and Jamison is too as well as Nick Young the up and coming star from USC. Blatche actually contributed and scored more than TWan and had more boards too with 18 and 12 to Jamison's 15 and 12. Young dropped 13 and had a soaring dunk basleine past two defenders. AD dropped 10 and I'm beggining to like him off the bench. He is not a greta shooter but does drain three's and when Gil comes back I think AD should back Gil up as opposed to Dee Brown with Juan Dixon now getting no clock and I thought Juan would do well with the Wiz. DARN DOUBLE DARN. The Wiz were 6-15 from deep and LA was 10-20 always hitting a three to thwart the Wiz comeback attempts. Now the Wiz face Chicago tonight in a game they must and should win. The first place Capitals face Toronto on the road. The Wiz Le Buletts need to find a Way to dstart winning all these close games they seem to find themselves in and I think they will. But if they are anything they are steadily very competive against everyone but Orlando and that young rebounding machine center Dwight Howard.

Caps Win Over NY Islanders 5-2

Ovechkin started the scoring early on a powerplay setup that had him fire a mean wrister close to the net and hit the back of that net(assists Jurcina and Laich). 1-0 Caps. Then the Caps got another powerplay and they scored on that one too. Thos time Kozlov redirected a shot from the point and fpound the back of the net (assited by Helmer and Lepisto to Hershey call-ups). The Islanders would strike twice in a row to tie things at 2-2 heading into a 3rd period that was all Caps. Alzner struck a point shot off the shin of a defender which caromed off the boards to the goalie who tried to hold out but it squirted through the crease where Donald Brashear worker hard to slide it into the ent with a defender draped on his back (assisted by ALzner(first career point) and Jurcina. Then Eric Fehr scored on yet another powerplay this time backhanding a juicy rebound niclet pass Mcdonald who made 42 of 46 saves and let's just say he was tested and tested often in this one. (assisted by Laich and Ovechkin). Then the goalie was pulled with 1:44 remaining and the Caps created a turnover and away came Ovechkin streaking to net an empty netter but with a Dman in his way he slid the puck over to Nik Backstrom who broke out with him and Backstrom hit the open net easily. First star award was Kozlov(goal) who also hit the post in this one second star Karl ALzner (assist) and third star was Brashear who netted the game winner. Ovechkin should have been a star with a goal and two helpers but I guess he's a start so often that some of the other players were given star awards. Brent Johnson made 27 of 29 saves and allowed just 2 goals which is a great performance also star waorthy so you could say five Caps should have been stars maybe even six with Fehr scoring that terrific backhander. washoington was 60% on the PP 3-5 and remain in first 5 points over next closest Carolina who lost tonight to Pittsburgh. Johnson is 5-4-2 with a 2.81 GAA and a .909 save %. Now a tough decison for coach Bruce Boudreau with who to start in net between Theodore and Brent. Both are good but Johnson has a better GAA and save % but both are playing great.

Wiz Run Nets off the Floor in 3rd

This was a close game until a 35-12 whooping in the 3rd when the Wiz caught fire and blew the Nets out. Deshawn played a great game going 5-8 from deep and finished with 21. Caron and Twan each had 22 and Nick Young was great as usual off the bench shooting 5-8 and had 12 ponits and made his only 3 attempt and had and and 1 that he completed. Caron Butler was Ponit Champ with 37 in a box score add up 22 ponits 10 assists 5 boards. Can the Wiz stay hot vs Portland who has a good record sitting at 13-6 we'll see. I think they beat the blazers tonight at home and move their record to 4-12. Then they have the Lakers and Chicago both winnable games. Wiz need wins and they will play hard fast and good for new coach Ed Tapscott. ANother note in this game was Dee Brown was 2-3 from beyond the arc and finished with 8 points as did Javale Mcgee. Dominic mcguire caught and finished agreta ally oop and Daniels hit a three and convereted on and And 1 situation. Blatche and Songailia did not shoot the ball well but the usually contrinbute postivley.

Redskins Lose Big One vs NY

The Redskins did not play good. Dropped passes no running game a pick thrown deep into double coverage on a first down. All things considered the biggest play was a 4th and 1 that the Skins elected to go for on there own 40. The previous drive had the same situation and they punted but with time running down and them down by 13 they went for it. Portis was stopped for no gain. The Giants kick a FG and are now up by 16. The SKins still have a chance. On a 4th and six deep in Giants territorty Rande LE is clearly interfered with but no flag was thrown. Backbreaker as Buckhantz likes to say when big shots are hit in Wiz games. Cambell had a number of dropped balls that his men shoukld have caught. Now the SKins best chance is to win the remaining gaMes and go 11-5 which may or may not get them into the coveted playoffs (Playoffs yes playoffs Mora). Next up the Ravens who the SKins should beat and Portis should do a better job running the rock. It's a winnable game as are all the gamnes left on the schedule. If they go 11-5 I think they should be in the playoffs but I'm not familiar with the toiebreaker rules so I don't know that status.

Caps reel Off 2 in a row vs Atl and Montreal

Caps after a rough road on the west punish ATlants then blank Montreal. Ovechkin had a hatrick (3 goals) and Kozlov and Fehr netted goals as the Caps at point held a 3 gaol 4-1 advantage and Theodore got the win. He was in net again vs Montreal where he saved 28 shots and shut his former team out. Ovechkin had another goal in this one driving right up to the goalie and going 5 hole to give the Caps a 2-0 lead after Nylander fed Fleichman on a steal by Fleichman deep in the Canadiens zone when a Dman tried the homerun pass from behjind the ent but Fleichman put his stick fdown in front of the pass and then passed to Nylander who gave it right back to Fleichman who netted the first goal. Then Dave Steckel degflected a shot from the point behind Montreal goalie (forgot his name) for a three nothing lead and that's what the game would end at. Montreal goalie 9is Halak. Backstrom assisted OV goal and Lepisto and laich assisted Steckel's. The Caps sit atop the southeast divisioon over Carolina who also won today beating Philli Phil. Theodore may very well be in net tommorow as the Caps face Columbus. I might also see Brent Johnson get the start because he has been good too. hopefully Semin and Fedorov and Green can reuturn by next week because the Caps would love to see those guys back in action.

Redskins Defteat Seattle in Seatlle

The Skins whooped up on a team they needed to beat (twoi prior playoff losses) in a game they needed to w8in. Portis regained the NFL ruyshing lead with 29 carries and 143 yards. He now leads Peterson of the Vikings by 26 yards. Springs and Landry had interceptions and Randel El and Betts had TDs. Susham missed a 43 yarder but made to other kicks. Mcintosh had a sack and Lorenzo had a sack. Ca,mbell threw for 206 on 20-33 Co0ley had 5 catches Moss and Selers 4. They Skins played huge in a game they won and now face NY at home in another game that would be a huge victory. Let's see if they can stop Brandon Jacobs Plaxico and Amaini and pull out abig win )let;s sat gigantic vs an NFC East Rival. that would be fantatic. Go skins who are now 7-4 and fighting to get in the palyoffs.

Caps beat Devils then Tie Them

Caps are in first and looking down at Carolina who they handled twice by 3 points and played one less game. The second meeting was goal filled but the Caps lost oin a shootout. The Caps led at first but then had to keep scoring to tie and Ovechkin had a layup with one second left as Backstrom fed him for the easy goal right when the Devils were about to celebrate. Kozlov had a greta goal off the faceoff and Theodore had big sacves buit NJ scored after holding the puck on offense for along time while Gianots found and opening in front of the net and finished off a nice feed. Caps are going on west coast swing with the first game in ANaheim. Oveckin scored the layup and had a defelection while Backstrom had a nifty tip in and Fleischman wristed one past Clemesen. Th caps would have loved a win and thats what they hope to achieve Wednesday vs the Ducks.

Dallas Defeats Skins in close one

Dallas got Romo and Newman back and Newman came up huge for Dallas picking off Jason Cambell on a 3rd and 2 with the SKins driving and ready to score. Devibn Thomas the rook dropped a huge 3rd down pass and Moss dropped a deep bomb. Portis played and was effective fopr the most part but did have runs that were not up to par for the star. 15 carries for 68 yards and a 4.5 average aint bad but he did have a 10 yarder called back on a penalty. Mcintosh had a pick when Rogers popped TO and jarred the ball loose and Dangelo Hall had a pick on Romo on a ball that seemed to be deflected by somebody on the D line went right to Hall. The Skins did not sack Romo not even once and that lack of pressure will evntually hurt you defensivley unless the seonndary is really on top the game. Cambell threw a pick and a TD and VCooley led the SKins with 7 catches. Betts caught a huge play on a screen and went twentuy1 when he needed 12 and Cambell ran once on another 3rd and 12 to pick first down yardadge he ran 22 yards. Skins still can get into the coveted playoffs but need to beat Seatle and then the Giants to be in a good position. I think they can win both games but need to really play great they have the personnel but do they have the heart. The answers to those querys will be obvios once they start whooping people like they should.

Redskins lost to Pittsburgh

Redeskins lose a big week 9 matchup and Cambell finally threw his first pick off the outstreched hands of Portis. Portis ran 13 for just 51 yards and Cambell threw for 206 yards no touchdowns as Wsahington had 5 sacks and one pick of Big ben by a tipped ball Cornelius Griffin snatched out of the air. Just not many postives for the Skins in this one as TRhe drove deep on Pittsburgh but could not finished drievs and started getting frustarted by sloppy plays nearing the desired TDs they were looking for. Pitts d hounded Ca,mbell and sacked him many times as well. One palyer that shined was Demetric Evans who had 2.5 sacks Horton had a sack Mcintoish a half and Golston a sack. redksins signed newly released CB Dangelo Hall from Oakland as they try and bolster an already strong secondary. I think Landry need some big tackles and maybe a sack/pick performmance to tell his team that he's still a strong palyer. SKins face Dallas SUnday night and are going for as weep against that hated rival. Expect strong outings from Portis Cambel Moss Randel EL and Cooley and maybve even a few catches towrds Devin Thomas in a gigantic week 10 Battkle Royale. Cooley led the skins in receptions and yards

Caps Riding 3 Game W Streak with a handling of Tampa

Former Number 1 netminder Olie the Goalie Kolzig returned to Verizin Cenetr Tonight but in a losing effort in which he allowed 4 goals 3 in a high scoring first period for the Caps. Tom Poti got the goal scoring started off an odd man rush for the Caps. assists Donald Brashear and John Erskine. Then Mike Green would tally his 5th from ALex Ovechkin and Nik Backstrom. Then Eric Fehr scores his first from Brooks Laick and david STeckel on a great high shot to beat Olie. Tampa would notch 2 PP Goals but found few opporunities otherwise as Brent Johnson would make 34 saves. LAex Oveckin would make it a sure win when he made the score 4-1 late in the 3rd. It was a defelction or tip in for AO from Semin and Schulz and ALex finally gets a goal after nine games without 1. The Caps are tied for first in the SouthEast division with Carolina who is their next oipponet on Wednesday when the Wiz face Utah at 8.

Wiz lose in Detroit

The WIz looked to be going down early but rallied from a 17 point deficit to take the lead by 1 at halftime. AMazing but they could not hold the lead and fell 117-109. Nick Young is showing he is an emerging star and a huge threat off the bench and i think he could replace Deshawn if he can't get his game up but Deshawn has proven to be a good palyer so that may not happen. Maybe Young could play point and start while Gil is out . Blatche only played 4 minutes and was not helpful even though he played well in the opener. JaMison led the team with 24 and Young had 23 Butler 21. Butler is once again point champ having the highest number of combined positive stats with 36 total box score. Juan Duixon was great and I knew he would be reurning to Washington he was 4-5 and made 1 three and scored 9 in 14 minutes off the bench. He should be the backup point guard not Dee Brown. Wiz play again Wednesday vs the Bucks.

Capitals Streaking Wiz Lose Opener

Well the Wiz had their first home opener since 1999 when players like Strickland and Richmond and Howard used to be Wizards. It wasn't pretty as the Wiz could not fight off a flurry of short jumpers from Cater and Hayes and got put behind with no time to come back. Very unfortunate. There was a tipped ball I think the ref made a horrible call on when Macggee tipped the ball to a teammate but the ref awarded ball to the Nets saying Javale controlled the ball and did not tip it but passed it. Bad call and the Wiz fall. Butler is toinight's point champ with a combined score of 28 14 11 and 5 (points boards assists) but had two drives to the bicket turn into TO and just looked rusy in the first game of the year. Then another bone to pick is with Deshawn who shot a two when a three would have been the better choice late in the game. I still expect the Wiz to be a good team a team that took 3-4 from the evntual and now reigning champ Boston Celtics bot what they did to LA in that final game was amazing. If the Wiz fall out of contention early I will place my TV onto the Capitals games because right now they are first in the SOutheast with a 5-3-1 record. Wiz face dTEROIT on Staurday and Caps face Ottawa so i will catch some of one most of the other. Skins of course play Monday night vs Steelers. Caps just finished a 4-3 shootout win over Nashville.

Redskins beat Detroit on great game form Moss and Portis and Cambell

The SKins played great in the 2nd half and did trail this baby at halftime 10-6. but Moss would connect with Cambell for a deep pass of 50 yards and scored a td that puts the SKins up 16-10. Then the SKins play good solid D and Moss goes back to return the punt because Antwann had not been solid that day doin it and guess what Moss does he reuturns the punt 80 yards for another Td the Skins go for two and fail when the should have just kicked the extra point because the kick another FG but it only puts them up 8 not 9. Portis runs for 126 yards and has five staright games of 120 or better. Me and my dad both agreed that on and over under scale for Portis we both picked the over and the number we said was 120 yards. Cambell threw for 328 on 23-28 on score and no picks so halfway through he has not thrown an int he did fumble in this game however he fumbled twice but once Jansen picked up the ball and maintained poseesion. Skins now face Pitsburgh on Monday night and look to go 7-2. I think they should beat Pitsburg No doubt

Redskins finish off Browns for big win

The SKins moved to 5-2 today with a win over the Browns who had just defeated the Giants. the Skins were helped by Portis TD run and a screen that Moss took for a score. The late in the game Cleavland was at the one but Skins stopped them four times in a row to secure whta they thought would now be a victory. Then on the first play form the three Portis runs about 30 yards and gets stripped and fumbles and Browns get possesion with about 5 minutes to play down 14-3. They score a Td and a 2 point conversion then kickoff play D and stop Portis on a 3rd and six in which he gets four. They get the ball back but miss a 54 yarder Fg attempt and lose to the Skins. Portis had 175 yards and still leads the league and Cambell does not throw a single pick threw seven game. ANdre carter gets a sack and the SKins win and now play Detroit. No reciever had more than four catches Moss had 75 yards.

Caps Now 3-1

The Caps have played great hockey early in this season just four games in and they are 3-1 atop their division. Ovechkin has 2 goals kinda light for the MVP but Smein has played great along with getting great goals by the guys thta don't score goals a ton but score very big goals for their team. Guys like Thomas Fleischman and Michale Nylander and Matt Bradley Brooks Laich Milan Jurcina Mike Green. Theodore is playing well and Brent Joghnson the back up goalie had a marvelous performance holding Vancouver to one goal. Great start hopefuly great season!

Skins Lose Gimme at Home

I can't believe it, no not my Redskins playing an awful who was it that Rams, %$#@ NO. The Skins had 3 TO in the first half and that made it a game when it should be a blowout. Cooley fubled Rabach threw a bad snap at Cambell and Pete Kendall caught a tipped ball and was trying to run when he got decked and fumbled with the SKins threating to score a TD and make it 14-3 instead 10-7 Rams at the half becasue they returned that fumble for a TD. If only someone could have tackled him. Unbelevable. Portis had another great game running and caught a great screen pass as i think he leads all NFL RB in yards. Randle El caught a huge 3rd down completion on 3rd and 13 and almost ran it in for a TD he was tackled on the one when Portis would score his second TD of the day. Rams RB STeven Jacskon fumbled on his own three which was caused by Marcus Washington and fell on by Laron Landry. Portis ran 21 times for 129 and caughta 12 yarder screen. Clinton has 46 yards more than any back at 643 threw 6 games Michale Turner is 2nd and Peterson form Minnesota is 3rd. Cambell was 18-26 for 208 and no picks. Randel El caught 5 balls for 87. The Skins had two sacks one by Springs and one by Montgomery. ST Louis had 4 sacks and I think getting Heyer back in the starting lineup will help. The Skins had their hands on two picks but neither Landry nor Fletcher could hold on. Skins face Cleavland next week on the road but they need to win and they will if you ask me and I ythink by a large margin.

Redskins Win over another NFC EAST Rival Beat Eagles

The Redskins were in a little bit of hot wtaer as the Eagles scored 7 on their first possesion and Washingotn punted to Deshean Jackson who returned it 68 yards for another score. There was a block in hte back but the officials decided to let it go for some reason. Portis and Cooley had their best games of the season as Portis led all ruunning backs in week 5 with 145 yards on 29 carries avg 5.0. Cooley caught 8 balls for 109 and a TD on a pass thrown by WR Randle El who has very impressive numbers throwing the ball. Brian Westbrook played after being questionable for the game but managed only 33 yards on 12 carries. So after the Redskins trailed 14-0 the rallied for three long FGs and the score at half was 14-9. Then Randle El and Portis were involved in 2 TDs and the Redskins took over leading 23-14. The Eagles would manage anotehr FG but it was not enough as the SKins D held them form getting into the end zone when on 3 and 1 from the 2 Westbrook was gang tackled as Carter blew up FB and the SKins teamed up to drop him for a 3 yard loss. 23-17 was the final as the SKins got the ball back and killed the rest of the clock with 3 first downs one a run by Portis to a run by Campbell on 3 and long and then on 4th and 1 ZOrn said to long for a FG to short for a punt let's go for it and Out of shotgun the Skins ran a draw to Portis the same play he scored a four yard TD on earlier this time he picked up 3 and the SKins did not have to run another play kneeling the ball 3 times for a victory. The Eagles vaunted D had only 1 sack and gave up 203 rushing yards. The O for the SKins once again did not commit a TO and Campbell extended his streak to 175 passes without a INT passing Joe Theismann for the SKins all time recored in that category. No sacks for the SKins but the get Jason taylor Springs and Washingotn back next week vs the Rams who have struggled this year.

Redskins Beat Dallas in NFC Rivalry Match

I just loved this game. Moss was big. Portis was HUGE and Cambell and the offense were not gonna turn the ball over in this one either as the SKins win 26-24 over hated Dallas (Alice). Portis rushed 21 times for 121 yards for a 5.8 avg. Barber the other RB rushed only 8 times for 26 yards as pass happy Dallas tried to pitch and catch their way to victory but did not. Romo threw for 300 but the game was all but over as the SKins held a 9 point advantage late in the fourth. Dallas would score and then try the onside kick but could not recover it. Moss caught 8 balls for 145 yards. The big offensive lineman Casey Rabach had not one but two huge penalties both on plays that were TDs called back. One was a phantom hold the other ineligle lineman downfield. Skins had to settle for a FG. Dallas had 2 sacks and the SKins none as Jason Taylor was missing due to injury but the SKins did get in Romo's face and forced erreant throws and Chris Horton's 3 pick for the rookie who is now starting in place of Reed Doughty. TO was held to 7 catches for 71 yards (Timeout TO is that all you could do in the biggest game of the NFL season thus far. The SKins outgained Dallas 381-344 total yards and Springs Smoot and Rogers all were slapping passes away from Dallas WRs. Smoot and SPrings both suffered minor injuries and I pray they will be back vs Philly another NFC East game on the road for the SKins in their first 5 games (3 of them). The Skins need another flawless performance and they need another win because then they face 3 weaker opponents in Detroit St. Louis and the Browns. If they can beat Philly they may just go 7-1 in the first half of the season. That would be awesome for the Skins players and Coach Zorn (Jay-Z).

Terps beat another ranked opponent

The Terps knocked off #20 Clemson on the road. They were led by 3 turnovers one a muffed punt one a lateral by the QB and one pick that was at the end of the half that didn't help. The Terps trailed 17-6 at half but then Derius Heyward Bey ran a reverse for 75 yards and then the Terps threw a TD. Later after 2 great cathces by Quendo the Terps scored another TD and then led 20-17 which would be the final. The Terps had a TD early in the game but it was called back on a procedure penalty and that hurt but they still found a way to deliver the knockout blow. The Terps had the ball at the end and needed some firts downs to kill the clock and they got just that the final one a slant to Darrell Scott the RB for a first on a nifty pass form QB Chris Turner.Clemson was shutout in the 2nd half after running the ball very well in the first.Ekeze kicked 2 FG one form 23 and one form 30. Torrey SMith caught that six yard TD from turner.Turner was 16-30 for 172 and had some balls he threw a little too high and hard early but settled down. Tyler a Freshman played great and had 4 catches and is a budding start for the Terps.

Dixon back in DC O's play hard but still lose

The O's had another starter go deep and then give up a couple still a quality start by Waters but rain and runs ended that game for the O's as they were shutout 3-0. Juan Dixon has resigned with the WIzards and is back in DC. He shoould start at point with the injury to ARenas. I would love to see Juan Juan at PG but Daniels is no slouch. Jason williams PG has retired and is done with the NBA. Thanks for the memories white chocolate. Jeremy Guthrie will start the season finale on sunday because he has asked Trembley to play him and thta desire should bode well for Guthrie in the future and I expect a good start from him.

No cryin in baseball no winning either i guess

The BIrds can't win. They have another 1 vs Tampa and then 3 vs Toronto. Rookie starter Alfredo Simon pitched well enough to win 7 2/3 3 runs but the pen got whipped especially Walker and the Birds los after holding a 5-1 lead going into the eigth. A heartbreaker. The Birds jsut can't hold on and now they must show some heart and play tough for their Final Four. One note Mora who was so hot has not been playing but Montanez has played well along with Salazar who will most likely replace Millar in next years lineup and Montanez as well replacing Payton. The rotatoion is still up in the air with Liz going tommorow. The addition of Witers would be much anticipated beacause alot of people say they like what they see out of the catcher. The two replacements i meantioned should help the O's offensivley because both players have showed good talent in the times tehy have been on the field for the Birds.

Redskins throw Ace Vs Cards

The SKins topped a tough Arizona team which came in undefeated and the Redskins wanting badly to win. The SKins move up to 2-1 and next face Dallas on the road. The SKins held down Boldin a very good wideout. Fitzegerald there other WR went deep on them for a socre but that wasn't good enough to beat the SKins whose best play was a Carlos Rogers Pick which he reurned 42 yards to the Cards 15 then Moss caught a screen and went in for the score and put the SKins up for good. Kedric Golston got a sack and Carter and Mcintosh plit one. Rogers recovered a James fumble. Campbell completed 23-20 for 193 and two TDs one to Yoder and one to Moss. The Skins have yet to turn the ball over other than on special teams when Randkle El fumbled. 3 games 1 turnover very good. They have forced five for a plus four trunover rating. Portis ran 21 times for 68 yards and a score. Campbell used his legs very efeectivley running 4 times for 26 yards. Moss and COoley racked 7 catches a piece Moss 75 yards Cooley 72. Devin Thomas had a long TD called back on a dumb penalty by Stephon Heyer. Main thing was Skins beat a quality opponent and now look to rally set the record straight vs Dallas. Devin Thomas caughta pass for 7 and ran a reverse for 16 yards good things for a rookie. Now Dallas and TO look to stop the streaking SKins but I see Washington outplaying another qualified contender so look out for the Skins because they are really playing well. They have enough offensivley and defensivley to give Dallas more than they can handle and pave the way for a great season in the Seemingly too tough NFC East. Suisham missed a 52 yarder after Campbell tripped on and offensive lineman on 3rd and 8 and that would have iced the game.

Orioles Lose Last two in Toronton Lose game 1 in final series at Yankee Stradium

Aubrey Huff hits his 32nd and the O's lead 6-0 in game 2 but fall one run short. The O's lose game 3 by 1 run as well. Both teams scored the same amount of runs in the seres but the Blue Jays won 2 games. Olson pitched well in game 3 and Brian Bass pitched great until the 5th. He was shutting out the Jays until they put up 5 in the 5th. Really dissapointing. Then the BIrds come out and take an early two run lead. Luke Scott gets robbed of 2 home runs one stolen by the center fielder and one just wide of the foul pole and that was crucial. Just one would have made this an extra inning affair. Liz pitched great but a wild pitch did him in. There were many complaints that Hernandez does not block balls very well and I agree. Maybe he should practice keeping balls in front of him. Nick Markakis was thrown out trying to score an extra run on an Aubrey Huff single but was gunned down. That hurt. Adam Jones stole a base and is 9/12 in steals and Castro hit a leadoff double but was starnded as Brian Roberts bunted him over. The infield came in with Castro at 3rd but Markakis hit a ball at 2nd and Castro did not score.

Great Pitching gives O's W

Chris Waters did it and it was a complete game shutout four hitter variety. Luke Scott balsted his 23rd a solo shot and Waters pretty much did the rest. He had 3 K's. Brian Roberts doubled home a run. The O's recxived the 2nd great start by Waters his first vs a great ANgels team. All these young starters the Birds have really need to play hard and pitch well to try and earn spots on next year's rotation guys like Liz and Waters and Olson even Burres. Well Waters earned a big W and is now 3-3. Keep playin hard and workin to win O's and show the league something these last couple weeks. Great win and especially great pitching.

Skins whips Saints and gets HUGE W

Campbll was huge Cooley was big Moss was great and Portis fantastic. Cambell threw for 321 with one TD and was 24-36 66%. Portis 21 carries for 96 yards and 2 TD. Moss caught 7 for 164 Cooley 5 for 72 Randle el 4 for 53 Malcolm kelly caught 1 his first for 6 yards and Fred Davis did the same. Thrash had 1 for 8 but the SKins screens were inneffective. Chris Horton started for zRedd Doughty and had 2 picks and a Fumble recovery. Jason Taylor made his contribution with a sack and a tipped pass and corneklius Griffin the big tackle had a sack as well. Bush returend a punt all the way and Suisham missed 2 kicks one not his fault but the ST needs to be better. washington faces ARizona nezt week and needs to keep winning as it is in the NFC EAST TOP DIVISION IN THE LEAGUE with Dallas Philly Giants and Skins. Keep it going SKins this is still early.

Maryland easily defeats Cal for big W

The Terps won big against a ranked opponent. Cal was 23rd. No longer. The Terps jumped out 28-6 and this one was a laugher even though the final margin was 8. Both staring running backs got put out of action. Cal's Jahvid Best was roughed up by CB number 2 Barnes but returned. Darrell Scott was put out for good in the third quarter. Chris Turner was 15-19 for 156 yards and 2 TD's with no picks.Davin Meggett rushed 13 times for 82 yards his long was 38 and he scored once. Scott rushed 19 times for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns. Some freshman also got carries but did little. Heyward Bey caught 2 passes and scored once and Gronkowski the tight end caught for and had 1 TD. Okendo and Watson also were ibnvolved in the passin cacthing 2 and 3 balls. Maryland's D had 1 pick by Barnes and 5 sacks and were pressuring Cal well. The Terps move to 2-1 and face Eastern Michigan next. BIG WIN for the Fridge and company.

After Big Win O's O Fails

The Birds hit four bombs last night two in the ninth but tonight behind shaky starter Liz who allowed 4 in 4 2/3 the O's could not make many hits. You here terms like bloop and a blast well they needed 3 of those in the ninth so they were behind big late 6-1 your final. the Indians managed scoring a single run in six different innings meaning the O's stayed out of trouble but still ended up in a bad position. They started a semi-rally in the ninth after Jones got an infield hit Nick and Huff were both retired and then Ramon hit a single down the line if he was faster it night have been two and then Millar hit a tower to center. Scott led one inning off with a double but didn't score after Castro was retired on a ball down the line to the wall that was caught and Huff also had a double. Not many hits for the Birds i think 6. Mcrory in his first appearance in the bigs pitched a great ninth but Cherry and Sarfate each gave up a run proving to put the O's in a real bad position as oppose to keep it close late with a rally giving you the tie or a win but that didn't happen as the bullpen along with Liz was not to par in this one. O's play tommorow with Waters and then making his big league debut afellow named Bass. So how those 2 do in a view of the competion to remain a starter for the Birds with Liz not helping his case tonight.

Redskins Season off to Slow STart for the O

The Redskins defense did everything it could to keep the game close except catch interceptions. Fred SMoot did pick one ball off but there were two dropped picks that would really have helped them one by Smoot and one by Landry. Plaxico did his best and had a great game making swell catches left and right despite tight coverage. Jason taylor played but not great and Shawn Springs sat out which hurt the Skins at corner. The thing that hurt the SKins was penalties and not being able to complete a screen pass other than the last play of the game when it was too late. The Skins too many times ended up with fourth and ones becasue recievers could not get that much needed yard after the catch. Jason Campbell was 15-27 for 133 yards and a touchdown to Moss. Portis ran 23 times for 84 yards and Betts once for 0. Portis did berak a 23 yarder. Cooley caught a screen he took about 23 but it was called back on offsetting penalties. That was a huge blow. Randle El had 7 catches for 73 yards and Moss had 5 grabs for 37 yards. Betts Cooley and Devin Thomas each had a catch Betts for 11 Cooley for 7 and Thomas for 5. Landry and Carter split a sack and Chris Wilson had one of his own and the Giants got a sack on the first play but their vaunted pass rush only got 1 sack while the Skins had 2 and almost more on a couple occasions. Rock Cartwright had one 50 yard return which sparked the only Td drive for the SKins and one 37 yard return. Randle El could do nothing on punt returns. London Fletcher led the team with 17 tackles 12 solo. 0-1 for the Skins as they face the Saints next Sunday at 1:00 a game the need to win badly and one in which the Offense needs to be alot better in order to win.

Orioles Season Spirals Downward

The O's just got swept by the Sox (Red) and before that were swept by Tampa. Mora hurt his hammy is out about another five days (can't lose a hot hitter like him). Aubrey now has 30 dingers and was robbed by Ellsbury today of his 31st. Guthrie was skipped in the rotation due to dead arm. Cormier and Sarfate wer4e fantastic blanking the Sox for 6 but then Jamie Walker got hit up for to runs as did Ricky CHerry and Jim Miller had a terrible throw tryin to get the lead runner but threw the ball away. O's lose 5-4 and are swept. They nexy face Oakland and all to look for now is long balls bu Huff who has the most on the team. They play Friday and have a double header Saturday. The Skins are predicted by many to go 11-5 and the score for the opener against the Giants is 27-13. My dad predicted that I said 20-27 both favoring the Skins to win as NY lost 2 great pass rushers.

O's Pound Pale Hose in Finale

The O's caught clutch hits 3 long balls and great pitching as Liz pitched well enough to win and that's exactly what the Birds did 11-3. Brian Roberts scored two with a 2 out single and Castro did the same and satked the Birds to a 6-2 lead. Then Mora went deep his 23rd. Liz pitched 5 2/3 giving up just 2. Nick Markakis had his league leading 15th outfield assist gunning down Jim Thome trying for 2 on a ball smashed off the wall. Cormier pitched 2 allowing just one run and Rocky Cherry held down the ninth with a huge lead and pitched a scorless inning. Alberto Castillo got the out he was brought in to record and is turning into a fine lefty out of the pen. Liz is now 5-3. Aubrey Huff went deep with Mora on first his 29th and Millar followed his shot with a shot of his own a solo dinger his 19th but Millar has had some deep balls go just foul on him otherwise he would have more long balls. The O's next face AL East elading Tampa Bay in a series the Birds should look to do good in. Starts on Friday through Sunday. Can the Birds help the Redssox and beat up on the Rays we'll see.

Games 1-2 vs Chicago

Chris Waters took a positive step in trying to stay in the roration but Brian Burress did not. Tonight Radhames LIZ tries to stay in as well going vs the White Sox. Hopefully Waters and Liz can pitch well the rest of the season and try to earn staring spots going into 09 well Buress and Sarfate and Olson have not succeded. The white sox won games 1 and 2 and go for the sweep tonight. The O's are looking to have strong starting and bullpen pitching and need to go on the offensive with the bats. Can Liz perform well enough to gain respect as a starter. We'll see tonight as he toes the rubber in Camden.

Redskins Panthers SKins plead no contest and USA b-ball Wins Gold

The Us edged SPain while the SKins edged not playing hard vs Carolina. One aspect of the name that showed was their ability to sack quarterbacks on the blitz with the rush. No run defense however as it appeared the SKins did not want to risk injury after Jason Taylor gave every single Skins fan a near heart attack after being diagnosed witha minor knee sprain. He shouldm be ready to go by the opener vs the Giants who are defending Super bowl champs but I think a much weaker offense without Jeremy Shockey. USA beat Spain in a hotly contested game and held on mainly due to a foutr point play by Kobe. Congardualtions USA and get ready for the opener Skins because you need to set a positive tone for the season and a win vs NY would do just that.

Game 2-3 vs NY close but no cigar

The Birds got swept by those Yankees and my were the games right down to the wire. Guthrie was no good in his start and neither was Cabrera and that's why they lost. The long ball was hit by Mora Roberts and Huff in game 3 but they lost 8-7 and 9-4 after trailing by one late in game 2. The Birds just could not get the much needed runs in the late stages and fell short vs NY. Too bad. Now they ,must snap back into form and play Chicago. They won the suspended game 4-3 with Rocky Cherry getting the final three outs and Cormier and Castillo comibining to blacnk the Palehose and get the W. Waters pitches tonight and he is 2-1.

Game 1 vs NY painful loss for Birds

Game 1 IN cAMDEN vs the damn yankees was not supposed to end like it did. The O's led after 2 RBI nights from Ramon and Huff and a solo shot from Ramon and almost a 3 run shot from Ramon. Then the Yanks came back twice hitting back to back homeruns. Liz pitched almost effectivley giving up 3 runs in 4 2/3. The pen was awful twice getting rocked in the 8th an 9th. This loss is due to the loss of George Sherill becaise if Johnson had pitched the 8th he would have given Sherill a save situation most likely because Johnson has had a career year. Skins play tonight while Guthrie goes for the Birds and early morning activity is the gold medal game USA vs Spain who they already beat by 37 and should won big again. When Pau Gasol is your big weapon you won't beat the USA. I gurantee it: Gold for the USA and the great games they have had always winnibng by at least 20 and having a chance to go 8-0 in Bejing. They will.

Finale vs Boston Big W for Birds

The O's really took it to Boston in the finale and their starter Clay BUcholz and numerous bullpen pitchers while the O's pen was outstanding. The O's trailed in this one early 4-0 but chipped away and then while down 3-4 Ramon Hernandez hit a 3 run bomb to center which gave the O's a 6-4 lead one they would hold on to and increase. Later Melvin Mora came to bat with Roberts and Markais on and he hit a three run homer to the left bleachers. Chris Waters pitched 5 innings and got the win giving up 4 ER while Bucholz left after 2 1/3. Sarfate pitched 2 scorless innings and newly called up Kam Mickolio pitched 1 inning and gave up 1 run. Then Jim Johnson pitched a scorless ninth to ensure victory for the Birds. Next up the Yankees who the O's have beat soundly this year and lead the season series 8-6. Liz reurns to the roataion and hopefully he will end the season strong to earn considerations to stay in that rotation. Tough task facing those Bronx Bombers though but I have faith in Liz because he has had some very strong starts. Series starts Friday for a three game set as NY visits the friendly confines of Camden Yards.

Games 1 and2 vs Boston

Two consecutive losses to Boston has really hurt the O's. Game 1 featured great games from ace Jeremy Guthrie and Aubrey Huff who hit his 27th and almost got number 28 but ended up with a double off the wall. Lester pitched great for Boston and they won 6-3. Huff had all 3 Rbi for the Birds. Boston had 3 homeruns 2 by newly aquired Jason Bay who appears to be Manny Ramirez without the dreadlocks. Game 2 was not a good outing from the big righty Cabrera who struggled and the Birds only tariling by one could not get any closer and ended losing 7-2 allowing 2 homeruns and not hitting any long balls. Waters goes tommorow for the Birds who will fetaure a couple new starters as Olson and Sarfate move to the pen where hopefully they can pitch less and better. They face a struggling stareer in Clay Bucholz who hopefully they can score early adn often and rake the finale vs Boston. Waters has had two good goes and a bad outing and I think he should do well in this very high pressure situation. The O's need a win badly and I believe they will win the finale.

O's earn series win vs Detroit Redskins 3-0

Well i had to miss the middle game of the Detroit series to view the Skins game but the Birds lost 5-3 while the Skins won 13-10. Jason Campbell had a bad day but there were some bad missed calls by officials and that negated a couple of great catches by Moss and Thomas the rookie. Sarfate had another bad outing and might be out of the rotation and back in the bullpen. Skins backs did very well even though Portis sat out. Rock Cartwright had a huge 73 yard run but that was later a drive where Devine threw a pick. Mason impressed again rushing 9 times for 55 yards 6.1 Avg. Betts had 6 carries for 34 yards 5.7 Avg. Colt Brennan threw the go ahead strike to former College Parker Jason Goode who i think has talent and could make the team. Mann and Mcmullen are fighting for spots and bothe did pretty well. The Skins defense was huge allowing only 10 and most of that was on a drive that started real close to the end zone due to unsportsman like conduct on Thomas for failing to come back in bounds on the punt. Favre did throw a TD in this one but the new look Jets could not hold on. Now for the Birds finale in which they just pounded the baseball and won despite another poor outing from a starter this time Garrett Olson gievn the quick hook after only 1 2/3. The Birds hit 5 count em 5 homeruns and stomped the Tigers 16-8. Luke Scott belted 2 one 3 runner and 1 solo. Mora had a solo and a 2 runner and Aubrey hit another 1 2 runner. That's 20 for Mora 21 for Luke and 26 for Aubrey good numbers. Pen man Fernando Caberea gets the win and pitched great going 3 innings and allowing 0 runs. Cormier relieved him and gave up just 1 in 2 innings and Jamie Walker ran into some late trouble aLLowing 2 in 2 innings. ALberto Castilo got the O's out of an early jam and retired one batter but did give up an RBI single. Birds win the series and 4 out of the last 5 and are now 60-63 while Detroit who was an early AL favorite is 60-64. The O's complete a postponed game next Monday vs the WHitesox that game is tied. They nexy face Boston and Jeremy Guthrie starts the opener followed by Caberea next than Waters and all three of those starters have shown they can keep you in games abd get the W. The other 2 starters have not shown that enough Sarfate and Olson. Look for their to be in change in those last two spots. Maybe Radhames Liz gets back to starting or someone new. I don't know how that problem will try to get fixed but I'm taking a wait and see approach. At least Waters has had 2 great starts and one bad one. He must give his all vs Boston and there lineup because Big Poppi is back adn Ramirez is now in LA to make that lineup less offensive thank God.

O's crush Tribe then crush Detroit

The O's went two straight to earn a split vs Cleavland then beat Detroit in the opener for a three game winning streak. A strong start from Daniel Cabrera was much needed as he allowed 3 runs in 5 2/3 which I think is a quality start. He needed to give up only 2 and he would have got the victory. The bats really came alive in the 8th as the BIrds scored 8 and won 11-6. Aubrey Huff just missed a home run twice on consecutive pitches. Alberto Castillo struggled some in the ninth mainly due to an error on the Birds. But they won and split that series and actually scored more total runs during the four games. Then Waters started the opener in Detroit but did not last long only allowing two runs but Trembley wanted the bullpen in. The O's jumpewd on top early scoring three in the first then Mora hit a deep fly ball out of the park to make it 4 nothing. Then Cormier relieved Waters and pitched 2 1/3 scorless then Johnson one scorless and Sherill 1 scoreless and the O's had a huge ninth scoring 6 to make the final 11-2. Huge win and Mora's 18th long ball of the season. Right now O's need good starts and that offense is going to give them wins and solid outings. They have to be the hottest lineup after the break in the whole MLB. They are really hitting great. Sarfate starts tonight and he must pitch well. The Skins are playing the Jets at the same time so I will tune in to both.

Game 3 with Guthrie Victorious

Guthrie had another great start only allowing 1 run in seven innings bettering his ERA 3.18, very good. Huff had another long ball this time a solo shot that started the O's in the right direction. It was a 2-0 nothing game until the Tribe hit back to back doubles but that was it for them as the O's had a big 9th scored 5 and won 6-1. Nick Markakis had a 2 RBI single in that ninth followed by a MOra single a Huff double and a wild pitch by an Indian which plated 5 for the Birds in that ninth. The bullpen was great pitching 2 scoreless innings with Jamie Walker going 2/3 Rocky Cherry going 1/3 and SHerrill going 1 inning. That pen is best just going two or three innings not more. Daniel Cabrera pitches tonight and he needs to pitch well. Guthrie just went to 10-8 and Daniel can make his record 9-7 with a strong outing. The O's need it and they should get one from the big righty so at least they can say 2 of their five game starters are doing well. Tune in for the boomin bats of Aubrey Nick Kevin and Melvin and Ramon.

Game 2 vs Tribe another L

Birds put up a good fight in this one but dropped another as their plummet in the standings is dropping them to mediocrity. Aubrey Huff failed to extend his hitting streak which ends at a long 19 games. B Rob extends his to 14. No long balls hit out in this one but Sizemore was close hitting one off the center field wall but his teammate ended up getting thrown out trying to score from 1st. Bad defense hurt the Birds in this one as Mora twice bobbled balls hit at him and then threw one way over first for the Horrendous Defense award. O's tied this one at five after trailing 4-0 and 5-2 but Mora was robbed of a hit that would have kept things looking favorable for the Birds in a rally. He was doubled up on a rocket up the middle but an Indian was playing right there (not a Chingy reference). The Birds are struggling and need qauity outinghs to get the series even at two with Guthrie and Cabrera going the next two. The might very well get a couple of strong outings form the top part of their rotation and the sorley need those two to be on top of their game because i believe the offense will end up scoring enough runs to win. We will find out if that will indeed be the case.

O's first in Cleavland not a good one

O's were doomed by Sarfate and his inability to record outs as he got shelled again in this one. The O's did get a big blast from Aubrey Huff his 24th but it would have been bigger had someone else been on base. Bad starting pitching and bullpen lost this one for the O's despite good offense. FInal 13-8. Garrett Olson has to pitch well tommorrow or else the O's roation is very weak and needs to be worke don in the offseason. Speaking of bad starters i wonder what Steve Trachsel is up to these days. O's drop to five below the .500 mark and need not fall any lower starting with a good performance in their next game is exactly what they need. Well that and a weaker AL would really help as well, almost as much as strong game form Olson, We'll see if the lefty can be great tommorow beacuse it's either great or garbage form these Birds.

O's get caught in attempted sweep

The O's have had many oppurtunities at sweeps and once again failed vs Texas. Things started off all wrong when Cintron could not see a pop up and allowed Kinsler to get on first, then a walk and a blast by Josh Hamilton, early 3-0 lead for Texas, But the O's would show some fight back. Mora hit a two run shot his 17th. Then Aubrey Huff balsted his 23rd for a 6-5 Birds lead. But they could not hold it. Kinsler hit a two run shot and then they would cause all starts of trouble vs the pen which allowed way to many runs. Next up for the O's Cleavland tonight. The Birds trying to keep winning and getting back over .500.

Game 2 Birds whoop Texas again Redskins notes

Two things went on tonight at the same time, a big O's win and Skins football of the preseason variety. After the Birds took a one run lead early Nick Markakis busted one out of the yard for a three run shot i beleive his 17th for a 4-0 lead. Jason Campbell and the offense looked again Jason going 7-10 with 71 yards. Portis scored on a big 4th and goal on the 1 and the Skins needed that. Todd Collins would hit Ladell Betts for a screen touchdown later and Suisham hit a long field goal, not that long though. The SKins played strong D all night and were helped by penalties and a few false starts but also had big holding calls that sent them back twice and converted both for 1st downs. Mora hit a two run single and Roberts added an RBi single and then Mora would hit his 16th long one of the year for a two run shot and the Orioles pitching held Texas to no runs on 5 hits while Cabrera lasted 6 and gave up none on 4 hits. Then Cherry Castillo Cabrera pitched the other three scorless innings. 9-0 your final with the Birds going for the sweep tommorrow. Two Redskins backups performed well. Marcus Mason had another big game rushing 16 times for 80 yards and basically other than one pass from Devine carried the SKins to the one where they failed to score. Broughton had a key run as well, but Devine underthrew Broughton on a one yard route. Billy Mcmullen had 6 catches for 55 yards. Colt was not as great as game 1 but threw some balls well. Moss and Thrash had good gains and Portis was unspectacular with 7 rushes for 18 yards. Ladell Betts had 3 cathes for 41 yards and is a threat out of the backfield to catch passes. The Redskins also caused two huge fumbels in this game. 2-0 are the SKins in preseason and play NY Jets next week. Washington outgained Buffalo by nearly 100 yards. Sarfate starts for the Birds tommorow and yes he is still in the rotation but not for long if he is bad in another start. Hopefully he pitches lights out and the Birds get some strong innings and a win so the offense needs to go out and play like they need to score him some runs. Two deep tonight maybe three tommorow. Tune in and find out.

Strong Start for Birds VS Texas

The Birds took game one of this three game set by a score of 9-1, could have been 12 if Juan Castro could have hit the ball a little harder in the eight but was caught out on the warning track. Kevin Millar gets a round of applause for his second two home run game of the season. Hernandez had two RBI singles and Castro did get a RBI with a timley hit. Guthrie came out and pitched great going seven giving up 1 and the bullpen of Jamie Walker and Jim Johnson did scorless ball too. The O's got 15 hits and something going all night. Luke Scott ended up at third when center fielder Josh Hamilton misplayed a ball that went by him all the way to the wall and scored on a Ramon hit. Great staring pitching great hitting O's win. Daniel Cabrera pitches tommorrow in a start that needs to be a good positive one for the righty and he daces Vincent Padilla whow has won 12 starts. I expect Cabrera to pitch well because he has that capability he just needs to throw strikes and stay ahead of hitters and he should put the O's in a good position to win. If he doesn't I will look very bad and feel bad for Caberea who i still have confindence in. Maybe dumb, NAH.

Finale in Anaheim has Four long balls

The O's fell behind early and then big as the Angels offense was hitting the ball well getting walks and taking advantage of starter Garrett Olson who is not helping his cause to stay a starter with his performance today. Vlady Guererro hit a two run shot in the first and then Mathis hit one out 4-0 ANgels way. Then Lou Montanez in his first major league AB hit a shot that was good for one run 4-1. Next inning more trouble for Garrett as he could not record more than 2 1/3 innings and eventually the score would be 9-1 Angels. Markakis tried to help the O's out hitting a three run balst his 16th but they still trailed big 9-4 and that was the final O's lose the series and finish their 9 game road trip 5-4 which ain't too bad gooing against the likes of NY and league leading Angels and almost sweeping Seattle. Next up for the O's Texas visits Camden Yards which should be a very competitive series. Tune in and find out if the O's can tackle Texas and pick up some wins as those two face off (I love the football refernce don't you).

1st 2 in ANanheim very interesting

The O's lost a nailbiter in game one but the ANgels lost bad in game 2. Sarfate was bad in game one. Millar was an inch away from a 3 run homer and the O's made a valiant comeback in the ninth but Sherill walked home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. Game 2 had a first time starter in Chris Waters who pitched marvelously outstanding giving up one hit striking and walking 3 in 8 innings on 104 pitches but was lifted in the ninth for Sherill who picked up the save and conserved the shutout. The O's struck in the first for two and then Luke Scott solo homered to give them a helpful insurance run. Big win for the O's who go for the series victory and a 6-3 road trip tommorow. A win would no doubt be huge especially against the best team in the MLB (Mile Long Bombs).

Redskins Hall of Fame Like in Colt Kicking

The Redskins After leading 9-3 fell behind on a bad penalty at the end of the first half on Tryon allowing the colts a kick for three. Then Colt Brennan led two touchdowns playing third string and people tryin to make it. One touchdown was thrown to Mann and one to Mason. Mason ran real well well and had 98 yards on 18 carries 5.8 yards a carry. Jason Campbell scored a touchdown on his furst drive hittin Randle El on a 20 yard cross in the zone. Clinton Portis was held out.Campbell was 5-5 for 68 yards. Martiel Webster hit a intercept returned for a touchdown and made it 30-16 final for a big win in the hall of fame game though preseason only big for those who play well. Skins play on Saturday day vs the Bills and more tim with the starters maybe a quarter or two. The dedense was strong only allowing 16 points and two big sacks from Horton.

Last one in Seattle NO GOOD for the BIRDS

Winding up the series the O's could not get a sweep as Cabrera did not pitch very well and lost giving up 6 ER and left after 6. The O's did lead but always gave up that lead in the same inning. Brian Roberts did hit his 8 long ball of the year pulling the ball over the fence deep. Jose Lopez went deep for the M's both solo shots. The O's just fell behind at the wrong time late and could not get back in it. I blame a lackluster lousy couple of defensive plays. Well really only one as the one Roberts attempted first would have been a marvelous one had his flip to second been on the money. The O's lose this one 8-4 and drop to four games under .500. They head to ANaheim to take on the ANgels once again and they would like a series victory over the best team in baseball that would be worth a lot to a team struggling right now.

O's once again pitch great and win

Jeremy Guthrie was on top of his game in this one holding the Mariners to 4 hits and one run which came on back to back doubles in the first, after that just two infield singles and that was it. The O's offens was not the Big O some have now come to expect from the Birds but Mora started off with an RBI double down the line. Ramon Hernandez added another run with a hit and Aubrey Huff blooped a single and drove another run in 3-1 your final with Guthrie getting the complete game victory sending his record to 8-8 with a very soldid 3.35 ERA. ADam Jones was 3-5 and Huff and mOra had two hits a piece in the W. The O's are now looking to sweep the terrible Mariners and can do so when Daniel Cabrera takes the mound this afternoon. Expect a very solid outing from Cabrera who should shut down the Mariners struggling offense. He faces Silva who is not pitching well and the O's should score quite a few on him. Tune in and find out today at 4:00pm. I will.

Last one in Ny first in Seattle

The O's stunk it up in the last game vs NY but they won the first two so good series. Dennis Sarfate struggled and Juan Castro Abreu and Rodriguez all homered. Then behind a 8 1/3 3 run outing from Garrett Olson the O's dominated Seatlle 10-5 in game 1. Olson was working on a complete game shutout but could not get it and the O's had an 8 run 5th all 2 out RBI's and took a commanding 10 nothing lead. They would hold on even though Seattle scored 5 in the ninth to make things a little closer. Tonight Jeremy Guthrie goes as the ace of the staff looks to continue his good pitching.

O's clobber big small NY

No need to ask what happened in this one, The O's was once again beat NY all night long. NY might now stand for Newly waxed you and in fact be NWY. WHy you ask, becasue Aubrey Huff hit a solo shot and that's all he needed to do in the ninth and have Melvin MOra ground out Jay Payton lineout and somethin happen to Scott. That's all i guess. Maybe Cabrera pitched too. Who knows. Well i mean good. Now The Yanks did fight back in this one so they didn't look like much of a little girl. WHo knows if Arod's homer was legit or did he cry it out Yankee Stankee stadium (BLOW IT UP ALREADY). Cry me a river (Justin Timerblake). Well Yankee's cry me a river. That's what ya'll do if you lose tomorrow's day game cuz oull be swept and done with til we whoop you again. Well then we might be talkin somethin after talkin somethin to someone else like games ends up being 13-4 that runs was in the other game but just 7-4 now. 8-4 tommorrow if we whoop you and your cry baby (AY bay BAY0) Hurricaine Chris lineup. Or stick with some old DMX (Ya'll aint gonna make me lose my cool). Burn one baby this one's in th books. Who;'s pitchin tommorwo Sarfate Chamberlain. See you there or be square you bunch of losers.

Game 1 in NY a BeatDown

The O's sure looked fine and dandy in this one crushing NY 13-4. It all started with men on base and Kevin Millar belting a 3 run shot to left O's up 3-0. NExt batter Ramon Hernandez and you know what he did, he made it back to back homers for the fourth time this year for the Birds. Then Adam Jones tripled to score B Rob and then Adam Scored on a sac fly from Huff 6-0 Birds way. Later, Adam Jones came up with the bases loaded and guess what he got his first career grand salami, 11-0. The Yanks would try to make it a game again with a solo shot from newly aquired Xavier Nady and then a 3 run shot off Johny Damon's bat 11-4. But then Huff got a homerun with 1 should have been two on but Markakis was called out an out of the zone pitch 13-4 Birds final. Jeremy Guthrie pitched great giving up 1 run in 6 1/3 and then COrmier faced some trouble giving up the 3 run shot. Jamie Walker's first game off the DL was a sucess as he pitched 1 1/3 hitless ball. Randor Bierd was good as well pitching 1 1/3 scorless innings. Tomorrow is a shot at redemption for Daniel Cabrera who must pitch well against NY to regain some momentum for the rest of his season. He faces NY's worst started Darryl Rasnor. Tune in and find out if the other Danny sticks it to NY and their lineup which can be potent if The Birds and their BIG O don't beat them up to bad. Should be tons of fun.

Game 2-3 vs ANgels

I missed game 2 but i do know Aubrey and Luke each went deep, the two premier home run hitters for the O's. They lost that game however 11-6. Game 3 was a different story. The O's behind a great start from lefty Garret Olson beat the Angels soundly 5-2 and finally picked up a win on Sunday. Bradford came in and got a double play. Johnson was sparkling in the eighth as was Sherill in the ninth. O's win on a Sunday for only the second time this season. Now the head to NY and battle the suddenly surging Yankee squad pushing for the playoffs. Hopefully the O's can throw them into a series loss maybe even a sweep. Game 1 tonight sees the O's send Jeremy Guthrie to the mound to battle Mike Mussina. Should be an interesting one.

Bad start vs ANgels

The O's made a valiant comeback but fell short and are now an off the radar six games under the even mark. Starter Brian Burres had his worst outing of the year gettin beat by two 2nd inning shots one solo one of the two run variety after he gave up two in the first off a double by Tori Hunter. He left after 1 2/3 giving up 5. The bullpen pitched remarkably well except for Chad Bradford who gave up 1 in an inning of work. Sarfate pitche 3 1/3 of no run ball. Lefty ALberto Castillo pitched 2 innings of no run ball and Johnson pitched an inning of no run ball. Solid work from the bullpen. Then Kevin Millar went deep to make it 5-1. The O's had a three run seventh to cut the lead to 1 but Brian Roberts could not get a much needed hit. Then each team scored one time in the final two innings but the Birds fell just short of a big comeback victory. Radhames Liz pitches tommorow and I think he can get back on track with a good outing. We'll see amd you never now what the outcome will end up being I think positivley so it should be a positive experience for a team that needs one. Tune in and find out.

Two finished out in Toronto Same Result

A rain postponed game was finished early today and with bad Defense and no offense the O's lost that game 5-1. kevin Millar gets the bad defense award as he overthrew the catcher on a potential inning ending double play which allowed two runs to score on that play and then another on a sac fly. The throw sailed high and Ramon could not glove it. The bats were silent in the games completion even though they threatened getting the first two on in the eight before Jones hit into a double play. Then vs the Jays ace Roy Halladay, the O's could only muster one run when it looked like they should have had three or four. Cabrera had a bad game even though he was killed by bloop hits all game long. Nick Markakis had an assist and is tied for the AL lead with 10 when he threw out Matt Stairs trying to tag and ended up with an inning ending double play. But the O's could not capitilize against who Jim Palmer calls one of the best in the AL Halladay who has an ERA under 3 now that's impressive. Daniel gave up all 7 runs and his ERA is now a not so good 4.86 while Halladay's is 2.82. Cabrera drops to .500 6-6 but really needs to have some quality starts after two very dissapointing ones vs Detroit and today. I believe he will because those bloop hits don't always drop. But he would have had to be very darn good today to win and he wasn't.

Redskins note: Skins sign Jason Taylor who will now wear the #55 and play Defensive end greatly boostin the team's pass rush because of the injury Phillip Daniels suffered which was season ending. Now the Skin's pass rush may be the best in the league. Hopefully Taylor will give you 10-15 sacks same from Carter and LB's and DB's will add some sacks too. We'll see but that right now looks like a great addition to the Defense and that line.
