Hoyas Top #12 Villanova

The Hoyas had to win this game and they did knocking off another ranked opponent meaning they have beat Memphis prolly a 1 seed UConn a 1 seed and Syarcuse wlso was ranked. SO they have some major key wins. They have St. John's and Depaul left and they must win those games as well and make noise in the Big East Tourney to get an at large bid or just win the tourney outright adn then they definitley get in. Wright through a lob to Monroe who layed it in at the end of the first and the Hoyas led by 5 going into the half. Monroe shot 4-8 and had 8 4 3 1 1 good numbers nt great dajuan Summers hit a couple big threes and had 16 2 1 0 1 but had 8 TOs and the Hoyas had a real high To # 23 in fact and still won. Wright hit a key layup with under a minute then hit two huge free throws off a 1 aand 1 situation and gave the Hoyas a 5 point lead but Nova would hit a three but then Wright would reciev an inbounds and dribble away from defenders and down court to run out the time he ended up hitting a layuip while being fouled but that idnd't matter because apparentlyt time was up and the Hoyas had the lead anyway so people forget about that. Mecherakov had a carerr high 11 and Wright had 13 4 5 1 Freeman only managed 2 points and Sapp the samew while Jason Clark had 4 Note where are you Omar Wattad you hit some keyt threes early in the year and now you remian seated on the ebcnh. Caps Beat Boston in OT Beat East's Best

The Caps led this one early but Boston was usaully quick to answer. A barrage of PPs in the third for Boston allowed them to tie it at 3 when Cahra beat Jose 7 hole and Benianti was quick to point out that Jose wished he could have that one back. The win is huge for the Caps but could have been even bigger had it not gone to OT and Semin's goal in the extra frame was marvelous i'll detail it in a bit. Backstrom got the scoring started when he forehnaded a juicy rebound in his 17th A PP goal assist Green adn Smein. But Boston would answer when Savard found Hunwick right in front to score. Then Alex Ovechkin would tally when he recived a drop pass and wristed one 7 hole near side to beta Tho,mas his 45th a blazer from Bradley and Jurcina. Boston would tie when Savard saw Kessel streak to then net and fire one past Jose. Then Felichamn got a lucky redirect off the skate of Wiseman he was looking to feed Ovechkin cuttin cross crease but the puck hit the d's skate and beat Thomas five hole his 17th assists Laich and Poti. Chara would tie it late in the gaem when he beat Jose 7 hole near side and I think it would have been a save Jose would have loved to have made and that would have gave the Caps the win in regualtion most likel;y. In the extra frame Smein got a pass at center skated and still behind the blue line a few feet behind it in afact he fired a slapper that was so firece it beat Thomas from that distance as he barely touched it and it went in i would say trickl;ed but even with Thoams catching it a little bit with his body it still went in pretty darn fast his 24th assists Green and SHultz and that might be the goal of the year and is definitley up there with Ovie's dandy vs Montreal what agreat goal a huge win (Caps have won 3out of 4 fom Boston) and Fleichman's goal ereily reminiscent of the one Boston scored in Ot for there only win vs the Caps this year. Caps right back on then ice tommorow at home vs Florida who got drubbed today by New Jersey and Brodeur is back in net fopr them and that makes them better i believe. Let's here some Let's Gop Caps chants tommorow at Verizon when the Caps continuye there run to the playoffs and siege of Boston as they try to rack up points and become top in the East. the first round matchup the Caps should win but second roubnd becomes harder either facing someone like philly or New Jersey most likeley maybe even Boston but that might be the Eastern conferecne final;s. Albert Haynesworth you are noe a Redskin and getting a big contract like that for yourself must feel great. Your plans for the season stuff middle gaps and breakthrough o lin emen and knock that QB to the ground Huh Yes sir this top tier free agent plans to make a big impact on a D that was 4th overall last year and now can improve on that. Dangelo Hall you are resigned as we saw things we liked about you alst season as you picked off passes and recovered a key fumble but Shawn Springs good bye as we needed Cap space and had to part ways with the tealneted CB. Carlos Rogers Cerrato needs to sign you back and hopefully that Trio of SMoot Carlos and Hall will be very effective manning up on the recuivers. Now we need to draft some real talent and hopefully both sides of the ball will be phenomanal next season.

Caps Top Atlanta as Push for Playoffs Continue

Rookie goalie Michael Neuvirth got the nod in net tonight and idn't dissapoint as things only got interesting late and i mean the Thrashers had to put one in with under 2 minutes left Shorthanded no less to trim the lead to 1 but a deep shot late was pushed aside and then a rebound came but Neuvirth hugged the post and stopped and i think that was the only rebound given up by the goalie as the Caps won 4-3 over SE division rival Atl. Now to the goals as the Caps would get two ealry PPs and score on both the first one some sweet stick hamndling from Semin as he skated between defenders and fired one top shelf near side adn in for his 23rd assisated by Federov and Ovechkin. Then Brooks Laich tapped in a Mike Green slapper that went off the pads of Lethonen and slid through the crease and Laich tapped it in for his 15th assists Green and Semin. 2-0 Caps. Kovalchuk scored to make it 2-1. Tharshers woul tie on a gola fromPeverly on the breakaway. But Green would answer on the PP getting fed half in the o zone adn ripping a slapper far side past the gaolie bottom shelf for his 23rd assist Balcstrom and Semin. Eric fehjr would make it 4-2 when Morrison fired a wrister it was sticked down by a D but Fehr woul reocver and wrist near side 7 hole for his 10th assisst Morrsion and Steckel. Fehr getting a lot of palying time becaudse Captain Clark had been hurt. A late shorty would make it intereesting fro ATl but no dice on the tier and the Caps hold on to win 4-3. Semin top star Green second Kaovalchuk thrid and Neubvoirth made 21 saves VCaps play an early one vs Boston at 1 Saturday. Terps Lose Claose Battle to Duke

The Terps led most of the game. The outplayed a higher ranked team for a good portion most. But in the end 2 threes would break the Terps down. Henderson hit one then singler nailed one and just like that a tie game was now a 6 point edge fro Duke and just when it was getting late. Bowie would drive and make a bank shot to cut it to four and then the wost fate would happen. Greivis in foul trouble the whole second half he might have played 5 minutes in the last stage but he would drive and be called for a charge ending his night and putting the Treps in a sticky situation without there great playmaiking PG. Milbouirne had agreta night finishing with 19 and 5 boards and making a number of short jumpers and most of his free throws. NEal would hit a big three as did Hayes Bowie also made one but the Terps needed more long range shots as Duke as they usually do relied heavily on the three point bucket to get them out of trouble. Bad freethrow shooting to as Greivis misssed 2 in a row and Bowie missed the front end of a 1 and 1 and that just hurt the Terps and they lost a hotly conteseted battle and fall to 6-7 in the ACC they need 2 wins and they will probbaly be dancing but three and they are ashoe in because 9-7 in the ACC is good enough for MaRCH but this win had they gfot it would have meant they would have been in if I heard correctly and they fell just short. Late Rush by Philly downs the Caps

The Caps played well until late in the 3rd where 3 goals in about 4 minutes cryshed there shot at winning. Bakcstrom scored on the first PP when Sergei Fedeov won the draw Ovie fake a slapper and passed instead to Bacsstrom and with the goalie Nittymaki way out Nik had a backhanded layup meaning gimme goal in the first 2 minutes. his 16th assists Ovechkin and Federopv. Ovie would reocver a loose puck in the offense zone and fire a wrister short side 7 hole for his league leading 44th unassisted but the Flers would get goals from Asham Carter Hartnell and Calude Giroux ans that late run was fast and goal heavy and the Caps eneded the game giving Philly two man advantages and could not score. Both teams recived 5 on 3 play Philly twice and scored once the Caps could not score with the 35 seconds they had that advantage. The Caps had many breakways a few shorthanded Fleichman did not connect Bakcstrom hit a post and sSTeckel was denied Fehe hit a post on the one timer the Caps usually set up on the man advantage and dinged the iron. Theo was in bad position on Carter go ahead goal and did not have much of a chance. Caps face ATlanta at home next on Thursadya and they need to win that game so they don'y start a losing streak and I think they will be real hyped up after giving up a 2 goal advantage vs Phoilly.Theo made 33 saves and had some real nice ones but late Ohilly got great opputunities and virtual layups.

Caps Crusie to Victory over Pittsburgh

Ovie scored so did 4 other Caps as they jumped out on top and then punoished the Pens with a Fluruy of goals. Ovie scored the first on the PP when Balcstrom fed him cross crease and Ovie one timed it past the head and top shelf center his 43rd assissts Backstrom and federov. Then Ta;bot would fire a rebound home pas Jose who made no effort at all. Then Semin woul wind up with the puck after it was hugged tro the boards for a while but swuirted to him while he was in front of the net held and faked and fired far side top shelf his 22nd assists Bakctsrom adn green on the PP. Then Federov would wind up a slapper jusy inside the blue lien and fire it 5 hole sneaking it through the pads to make it 3-1 his 6th assists Smein. Then ex Cap Gonchar would fire one pas Jose on the PP and make it 3-2. But Morrison would get a slapper past the netminder I thought it might have been deflected but could not tell his 3rd assists Ovechkin and Fehr. Then Laich would score off a no angle shot from the side of the net that went seven hole hit the ice on the goal line and moved an inch past it and in his 14th assists Poti and Morrison. This game was all Caps after the half way mark and they domianted both periods while the third remained scorless. Theo 31 saves good game and the Pens had 5 more PPs than the caps but were hust 1-8 while then Caps were 2-3 so another horribly officiated game with Pens getting all those extra oppurtu nities. First star federov second Ovie third Smeinall three had a gaol and an assisit. Caps face Phillyt at home Tuesday and they would love a win as they trail Boston by 87 and now look how much closer they would be if they could have beaten Colorado bi=ut they are getting closer to the top of the East.

Avalanche Rain down On Caps and Theo

This is really strange the Caps got crushed and i can't enl;eive it. Kromall misses high over a half emppty net that could have staked the Caps to an early lead. Then SMith did a wrap around and poubnded the puck through theo. Baklctsrom would answer when he one timed a nice feed from Fleichman off both post and in his 15th assists Fleichman and Fehr. But FOote would be in tight an d fire one top shelf far side. The Cpas owuld get no close even thouygh they had many good chances. Smein had a breakway and was stopped Ovie tried a smooth feed to fehr wjo could not ready his backhand and then Arnason would fire one just like Foote's top shelf far isde then on a 2 on 1 wotski hit net and 4-1 was yur final. Colorado had a couple more 2 on 1 but the D thwarted those chances or it could have really been a blow out. Jose made 21 stops not enough and the top stars were all VAanlanche the Cap[s must now rebound in an ewarly contest tommorown vs the Penguins. Caps win again vs Montreal

The winning streak is three teh current one. The Caps have had many of them and are enjoying another hopefully a lengthy one like some of their penalty killing has had to be extra time or OT if you will. If you don't just makes things harder on yourself. Green didn't score who cares he knocked a record 8 goal scoirng game streak you know what i mean and NHL Record feat BABY. Ovechkin red hot Smein doing his thang Backstrom you know player dishin it out to you and Jose Jose Jose pretty darn solid if you ask me. The rookie golatending has been phenomanl players like Nevirth and Varlamov the future stars that will be in net for the Caps a comboned 3-0 that's very good. Now foir the goal scores in this one Higgins scored first on a bang bang play but then Ovechkin made a spectular drive tro the net where he was knocked down still controlled the puck and from his sidde whipped one in as he flew down the ice his 42nd unassisted. Then Ksotsitsyn scored on a puck that fell on Jose 's back and he took it in with him backing up. But Bakctrom would tie it when he was found in front of the ent and wristewd one far side that beat Price who played great hisa 14th assists Federov and Green . Then in the thirs Plekanexc would balst one five or seven hole off Theo and in but late in the thjrid the Caps would be relieved to see STeckel defeklct home a wrister to tie it up late and send things to OT his 7th

assists Poti and Laich. No goals in OT so a shootout and Semin skated first and scored 7 hole on one that leaked through then Jose would make a kick save then Backstrom would score like he did in regulation with a wrister close up and far side then Jose would save a puck by clinging to it with his strickhand and body and shovel off target and out of the way no third round neccesary. Markov top star with 3 helpers Ovie sewcond with hjsi greta tally and Steckel third for his redirect. Jose made 30 stops and the Caps next play Firday when they face the Colorado AVvalcnhe. That should be fun but onl;y if the Caps make it fun by playing great scoring and making good and great saves in front of their net. Ovechkin Leads Caps past Florida

Ovie had 3 goals to boost his kleague leading mark to 41 talluies. Green' streak stopped and Jose had another good very good game. Ovechkin started the scoring on the PP when he got the puck skated to center zobne and wrsited one low shelf far side to beat Vokoun his 39th assisted by the usual Semin adn Bakcstrom and that first line just keeps racking up the points maybe the best line in the league and they get my vote for that. Then early in the second fehr nets anotehr one as Federov drove to the net and dished the puck which Fehr backhanded far side low shelf to beat Vokoun and Fehr keeps scoring and is hot right now his 9th asssisted by Fedrov and Flecihman. 2-0 Caps. But Florida would make a game out of it as Frolic was in front undefended and wristed one in. Then Horton would make anopther goal as he score don the zPP on a juicy rebound tip in ad Jose was on his back and did not attempt tos tsop the puck. But late in the third Ovie would get a rink long pass from bakctrom get it at the blue line skate in and wrist one between the d skate and past Vokoubn i think five hole and the Caps would take the elad back late Ovie's 40th assisted by Backstrom. Then with amnd empty net Ovie would backhand the puck all the way down the ice off the ppst and in his 41st assist by SHultz. Horton would ring one off the post on the PP but it would not go in and ovie was sset up one a few one timers but they hit the post too. Florida was 1-8 on the PP and The Caps kept denying them after taking too stupid delay of game penalties. It's like the forget they can't just ythropw the puck off the ice in the defensive szone. Jose made 29 saves and was third star Hirton was second and of course the man with the htarick LAex Ovechkin was first star with a great game. FDLorida wsa 11 points back and now are 13 and the Caps showed them that they don't want FLorida creeping any closer to them in the standoimngs and the won also helped them stay toied withn jersey who defated Sabnn Jose. Caps atre 9 ponits behind Boston and now are rated third althougfh they are tied with Jersey and the Rangers are 6th and Buffalo is 7th tied with FLorida and the middlew is Philly at 4 and the Caps next opponent Montreal at 5. Caps Win Big over Tampa

The Caps demolished Tampa last night. They led by four golas twice in that game 4-0 and 5-1 which was the final. Na d the Caps had a great attempt by mIke Green hit the post and another unheard of 2 on 0 when Green and Ovechkin kept passing and Ovechkin whiffed on his goal atte,mpt or it might have been saved otheriwse this thing could have been 7-1. Letr's get to the goals and who scoreed them. Fuirst letr may say trhta Michael Neuvirth made his first NHL start since Johnson and Varlomv are injured and he made great saves many times and allowed just one goal. Semin scored the first goal as he skated in deked and put the puck behind Mckeena who was replaced after 20 for Ramo. Smewin hit far side net and it was his 21st asssisted by Backstrom. Then Ovechkin would light the lamp skating in past defense and firimng a mean wrister that aeither went five hole or far side for his 38th assists by Smein and Backstrom.2-0 Caps. Then late in the firts the puck would be past to D man Morrison who would fire a puck that found it's way home 3-0 end of the first period Shaone's 2nd assited by Steckel and Gordon Brashear wlmost defe;ected it too. Then Mike Green would make history scoring in his eight staright game as a defenseman a new NHL reocrd. He fired a wrister that was blocked by a dman then retreived the loose puck in fronyt of the ent and fired the puck five hole maybe defelcted off a ds stickbut it went in and that made a 4-0 a huge lead for the Caps, Green's 22nd PP goal assits Semin. But Malone would fire a crafty shot that floated in and finally get tampa a goal. Later fire would get a pass from behind the ent from fleichman while in front of the net and fire a wrister near sise 7 hole Fehr has been scoring alot of goals recently his 8th assist to Felichman 5-1 was your final Green was firsyt star Smein 2nd and rookie goalie Neuvirth 3rd maiking 31 saves and playing great big win for the Caps and another game today in Florida vs the Panthers and the Caps need a win making a push on firts now 11 points behind Boston and tied with Jersey for 2nd with Philly being 8 points back in fourth. Caps Lose to NY Rangers in OT

Things went well fro the Caps as they salvaged a point after having to kill another 5 on 3 and several extra PPs that the Rangers recieved. A fluke goal in the SO by Callahan where the puck bounced off the crossbar and hit Theo in the back and went in proved to be the game winner. Let's get to the goals. The Rangers led off the scoring as Callahan recievd a great feed while moving to the net and tipped in an easy one over Theo's glove. But the Caps would anzswer Felichman woulkd whiff on a wrister the puck would bounce around and Fleichman would recover and fire a wrister to beta Lundquist. Then Fehr would recover a lose puck off Flehcman shot it hit a skate and Fehr put in the rebound. Fleimna's goal was his 16th from Fehr and Fedreov and Fehr netted his his 7th from Felichman and ALzner. 2-1 Caps after 1. Then Korpikoopski would score to tide things then Mike Green would score in his 7th staright game tying the record for best streak by a D man Green's 21st from Ovechkin and Backstrom. 3-2 Caps. Naslund would get credit fro a goal even though he kicked it in and the refs blew the revciew because anyone who saw it so Theo stop the initial shot and then him slide in and kick it in but it was allowed. 3-3. Mara would slap one in and it was 4-3 rangers but Green would get the puck from Nylander skate a l;ittle and fire a slapper top shelf to beat Lundquist his 22nd assit Nylander and Morrisonand it was 4-4 after 2. No goals in the htird or OT and then there was a shootout to settle thhings. Ovechkin would be the thirs shooter and needed a goal to send it to extra rounds and he scored wristing one past Henry but Cllahan would convert on the awjkward pklay previously described and Laich was then unable to elevate his backhander ands it was to low to go and hit a Henry;'s pad game over only a poiny for the Caps but hey they'll take that. Green was the 2nd star for his 2 goals the Capsa play in Tampa next and hope to beat that SE opponent division al gaem they need to keep winning it;s no time to start losing for the Caps and the games are still very importnat. Caps Win Thriller vs SE Rival Panthers

This game was a thriller as the Caps would take a third period lead but have to kill a 1:05 5 on 3 plus a 5 minute major when Morrison hit a Panther in the back who then went face first into the boards opening up a mean cut over his left eye hey who said hockey wasn't DNGEROUS. The Caps scored very early much like they did vs LA when Fleuchman put a pass throught the saktes of a d man and Fehr would skate in and fire a wrister near side past Vokuhn an early 1-0 lead Fehr's 6th assited by Fleichman and Steckel on the first shift. Then Ballard would tie it when ghe called for the puck from fromer Cap Zednik who passed and Ballard ripped a one timer off Theo's hsoulder abnd in. 1-1. It was that score in the third when Backstrom just was denied on a rebound when Ovie would find Green who skated in and fired a wrister top shelf his 6th staright game with a goal a record for Caps Dman and 7 is the NHL record set by Connel in '86 Green's 19th assisted by Ovechkin and Bakcstrom. Then the hysterica wouyls start inside me when Fedorev was in the box Morrison through that hit and got himslef a 5 minute major game misconduct for check in the back and the 5 on 3 would be killed for that minute and 5 seconds but Morrison was still in the box and the Panther's pulled there goalie setting up another 2 man advantage but Green would get the puck on the boards and fire a wrister all the way down the ice and into the net for his 20th and it sealed the win for the Caps as they killed all PPs for the Pnather's the foirst time simnce 13 staright akllowing a PP goal that las t Green tally was shorthanded and was unassisted Theo made 20 saves and was top star Steckel was sewcond for his greayt PK work and Vokoun was third making alot of good saves but I really felt like Green should have been first or second star and Fehr should have got a star. Caps win and now have a 14 ponit adavantage in the SE divison with a heard four more games against the Panthers and they have to win those key contests against the didvison games they have kleft.the Caps are 34-16-4 a great mark and must keep winnoing to hold second in the East and to make a run on Boston who lost bit in OT vs OPhilly so they only oick up one point not two. They have a ton of divisoion games left and get to see what kind of opponents they have ibn their divison the SE with Tampa ATlanta and Florida and Carolina who they have played the most so far out of the four. Keep it up Caps and you will have a great seed heading into the the most importnat games the Playoffs.

Caps Lose Tough one to Kings

Well the Caps goal in this one was to exact some revenge and they almost did. They lost a nailbiter to the Kings but things started off very promisingly. Ver eraly Laich found Semin and the pass went cross the crease and Semin one timed it in beating Quick who woiuld make a ton of saves tonight for LA. Semin's 20TH ASSSIT by Laich. But the Kings would get a 5 on 3 twice this game and only score once when Kopitar beat Jose who had his worst game maybe of the season. Then the Caps would keep giving uop breakaways and Kopitar would score Handzus would tap in an easy one shorthanded and suddenly things are 3-1. Then Mike Green would score for a fifth straight contest on the PP getting fed by Backstrom moving to the net and fire a wrister to make things 3-2 his 17th assisted by Bakcstroma nd Theodore. Osullivan on another breakaway would beat Jose and 4-2 was the score. Then Ov9ie would score a great one getting t5he puck not far from the net and firing a wrister bottom shelf his 200th career goal 37th of the year unassisted. The Kings next drove to the net as for some reason 2 Caps went after a King and that developed into an odd man rush at the net as Brown would be stopped but Calder would score the easy tip in. Brooks Laich would score with a minute left tipping in a Green blast that might have gone in anyway his 13th and goals in back to bakc games assiste dby Green and Backlstrom. The final was 5-4 LA's way adn a tough omne to swallopw as the Caps really want to make moves on Boston and at least kepp seciuyre hold of 2nd place in the east assuring them home ice for the first two series at least and a thoird if someone takesdown Bopston. Jose had a bad night but the Caps did him no favors as they kept allowing a King to streak by hjim slef i n close to beat Jose whoi amde 30 saves. The stars were all kings tonight as Kopitar Frolav and Brown were the honored. Caps next play Saturday at home vs Florida and they will be hungry for a victory. They are up 3 on Jersey but have played 2 fewer games and right now I'm hoping Jersey gets beat and the Caps can win and lengthen that marguin. The Caps recoird through 53 games is 33-16-4 a very good mark as they have 29 more games to play and I think should win 23 to 24 of them and head into those STanlet Cup Playopffs HOT AND READY TO GO DEEP AND SHOW that they are a better team than anyone else and avenge last year's one and outdefreat to the Flyers. Caps Stay Hot winnoing streak now at 3

In the second Nylander would be the benefitof a great pass as Fehr ripped a shot that Boyd rebounded and flipped behind the goalie to Nylander who who whipped it in maybe Gordon should have just stuffed it in I did say behind the goalie's back so yeah. Nylander's 6th asiste to Fehr and Gordon. Then Devils finally scored when they had a 5 on 3 and Rolston drilled a one timer 5 hole 3-1. Then Laqngenbruner would get a shorthanded break away and beat Jose on just a togh shot to stop 3-2. Nylander would score at the end of a PP for his 2nd of the night when he controled the puck close to the net and foired a wrister past Clemensen just a hnifty lefty release similar to Morrison's game winner in OT a while back with with the quick lefty shot to score his 7th assisted by noone. Then the Caps would get an EN when Fehr got a deep feed that he skated into the O zone tor eocver from Morrison and wristed ho,me his 5th from Morrison and Laich. Jose theodore was greta again as he allowed just 2 goals and is steadily improving his GAA while making 32 sparkling ten bellers in this one and is goiing strong as the Caps main netminder primary gaolie 3PP tallys for the Caps and they won but it could have been a lot easier 5-2 your final the Caps next face LA and the KIngs at home Thuirsday. Caps are a real steady team right now and they have been great coming out of the ALL star break 3-0-1 and need to rack upa s many points as possible to catch Boston and that first place spot in the East they want revenge on LA who downed them earlier this seaosn when the Caps made that West Coast Trip. Ovie for 3 Caps Crush Sens

This was a game that was great fro the Caps and their budding Superstar as they took a huge lead and held on while scoring great goal after great goal. While the Sens struggle the Caps keep winning and the only thuing they are struggloing with ids that Boston keeps winning too. To the highlights: Scoring first was a Sen called Alfredson as he slid into the O zone he wristed one far side past Brent Johnson who was playing in the second game of a back to back,. 1-0 Sens but answering right back were the Caps when Backstrom won the faceoff and kicked the puck back to Green who slapped it past Elliot whom Auld would replace after the fourth Caps tally early in the second. Green's 15th Backstrom with the on;ly assist on the PP.Then Ovie woul;d strike on the PP as Fedorov won the faceooff and Green slipped a pass to Ovie far side who one timed for his 34th assisyted by Green and Fedorov,. Then Fehr would get a marvelous hustle rebound goal after Shultz wristed one in it was blocked high hit down and Fehr slid in and whacked it into the net for his 4th assisted by SHultz and Backstrom. Ovie would make it 4-1 as he wristed one in with a D man screening the goalie for his 35th assisted dby Federov amnd Kozlov all Russian.ALdfredson would amke it 4-2 witha wicked one timer but Semin would answer right back as he retrieved a higfh bomb that he controlled and skated in on the goalie wqentr baCKHAND and hit net to make it 5-2 his 19th asssidted by Green and Laich. Then Ovie would complete his hatrick in the 2nd frame when he wristed another one 5 hole his 36th(mafia Mafia) assisted by Fedroev who had 3 helperes. The Sens wouls core twice in the 3rd as Vermette would get a juicy puck in the slot and score and heatley would tap one in after Poti tried to keep possesion but went dangerouysl;y oin fromny tthe net. Backstrom would fire a long wrister to score on the emprty net to seal the deal late in the third about 20 ticks remaining his 13th assisted by Green. 7-4 your final with Ovie first star Green second and Fedorv third Johnson made 34 saves and the Caps keep cranking out Ws.

Caps Crush Defending Champs in Matinee Madness

This is my 106th post so shout outs to Terrence and Roxy on 106 amnd Park for holding me down with all there flyness and bangin videos. To the Caps game and it was a good one especially for the Caps. Early on The Wings would strike first as Leino broke away on a 2-1 kept the puck and spun around half way to guard the puck from Jose and gire it with his back to the ent as Theo could not get in good position and Semin could not block it. But very soon after Jurcina would fire a salpper from the blue line and it would defelct off Kozlov and in Kozlov's 11th assisted by Jurcian and Nylander. Then the Caps would go ahead when Mike Green reeled in a pass from Backstrom who had been hit illegally on the play was on his back and still slid the puck tro Green who came in from the blue line and fired a high wrister past Conklin 2-1 Caps and that place was rockin at the Verizon center Green's 14th asssisted by Backstrom and Fehr and the latter almost scored a couple great ones. The Wings would tie when Fraznen would slap a rebpund past Jose and things would be 2-2 heading into the third which was one of the Caps best periods to date. Ovechkin and friends were keeping the puck in the zone for a long time and after another keep in a stolen pass Kozlov found Ovechkin on the wing where he skated in close and slipped a shot low far side on Conklin that that he could not save Ovie's 32nd assisted by Kozlov and Morrison he just shot it at the right spot. 3-2 Caps but they would get a PP and Ovie would light the lamp again after Green shot a rebound came to Smein who shoit got the rebound and found Ovie on the other side of the net where he gained control and flipped one past Conkilin and a D man for a 4-2 lead and not much time left. But then the Caps would be penalty plague as they would have to go 6 on 4 until not one but two delay of game penalties would be given to Laichs and Poti (his first game back) for throwing the puck over the boards from your D zone but Poti's was cl;early defelcted. ANyway 6 on 3 with 3 guys in the box was defintley not what the Capsitals wantes to see but all detroit could muster were some slappers that Theo saved and one rebopund that got pounded off a post but no goals and the game would end 4-2 remarkably when had the Wings manged tos core they would stiil have had 6 on 3 again and then a PP going in to OT which would have been terribl;e but the Caps stepped up Theo made great save sfter great save and the Caps would stop the marvelous oppurtunitry given to Detroit. There is another home game at 12:30 for the Caps at home tommorow vs the Ottawa Senators and the Caps are looking to pay the sNES BACK FOR THE GAME THEY LOST IN THE MOST RECENT MEETING BETWEEN THE TWO. Caps win over a great Western team and now look to keep playing strong in this second half of the season and acatch Boston who beta NY Rangers today 1-0 Damn
