Caps Lose Tough one to Kings

Well the Caps goal in this one was to exact some revenge and they almost did. They lost a nailbiter to the Kings but things started off very promisingly. Ver eraly Laich found Semin and the pass went cross the crease and Semin one timed it in beating Quick who woiuld make a ton of saves tonight for LA. Semin's 20TH ASSSIT by Laich. But the Kings would get a 5 on 3 twice this game and only score once when Kopitar beat Jose who had his worst game maybe of the season. Then the Caps would keep giving uop breakaways and Kopitar would score Handzus would tap in an easy one shorthanded and suddenly things are 3-1. Then Mike Green would score for a fifth straight contest on the PP getting fed by Backstrom moving to the net and fire a wrister to make things 3-2 his 17th assisted by Bakcstroma nd Theodore. Osullivan on another breakaway would beat Jose and 4-2 was the score. Then Ov9ie would score a great one getting t5he puck not far from the net and firing a wrister bottom shelf his 200th career goal 37th of the year unassisted. The Kings next drove to the net as for some reason 2 Caps went after a King and that developed into an odd man rush at the net as Brown would be stopped but Calder would score the easy tip in. Brooks Laich would score with a minute left tipping in a Green blast that might have gone in anyway his 13th and goals in back to bakc games assiste dby Green and Backlstrom. The final was 5-4 LA's way adn a tough omne to swallopw as the Caps really want to make moves on Boston and at least kepp seciuyre hold of 2nd place in the east assuring them home ice for the first two series at least and a thoird if someone takesdown Bopston. Jose had a bad night but the Caps did him no favors as they kept allowing a King to streak by hjim slef i n close to beat Jose whoi amde 30 saves. The stars were all kings tonight as Kopitar Frolav and Brown were the honored. Caps next play Saturday at home vs Florida and they will be hungry for a victory. They are up 3 on Jersey but have played 2 fewer games and right now I'm hoping Jersey gets beat and the Caps can win and lengthen that marguin. The Caps recoird through 53 games is 33-16-4 a very good mark as they have 29 more games to play and I think should win 23 to 24 of them and head into those STanlet Cup Playopffs HOT AND READY TO GO DEEP AND SHOW that they are a better team than anyone else and avenge last year's one and outdefreat to the Flyers.
