O's clobber big small NY

No need to ask what happened in this one, The O's was once again beat NY all night long. NY might now stand for Newly waxed you and in fact be NWY. WHy you ask, becasue Aubrey Huff hit a solo shot and that's all he needed to do in the ninth and have Melvin MOra ground out Jay Payton lineout and somethin happen to Scott. That's all i guess. Maybe Cabrera pitched too. Who knows. Well i mean good. Now The Yanks did fight back in this one so they didn't look like much of a little girl. WHo knows if Arod's homer was legit or did he cry it out Yankee Stankee stadium (BLOW IT UP ALREADY). Cry me a river (Justin Timerblake). Well Yankee's cry me a river. That's what ya'll do if you lose tomorrow's day game cuz oull be swept and done with til we whoop you again. Well then we might be talkin somethin after talkin somethin to someone else like games ends up being 13-4 that runs was in the other game but just 7-4 now. 8-4 tommorrow if we whoop you and your cry baby (AY bay BAY0) Hurricaine Chris lineup. Or stick with some old DMX (Ya'll aint gonna make me lose my cool). Burn one baby this one's in th books. Who;'s pitchin tommorwo Sarfate Chamberlain. See you there or be square you bunch of losers.

Game 1 in NY a BeatDown

The O's sure looked fine and dandy in this one crushing NY 13-4. It all started with men on base and Kevin Millar belting a 3 run shot to left O's up 3-0. NExt batter Ramon Hernandez and you know what he did, he made it back to back homers for the fourth time this year for the Birds. Then Adam Jones tripled to score B Rob and then Adam Scored on a sac fly from Huff 6-0 Birds way. Later, Adam Jones came up with the bases loaded and guess what he got his first career grand salami, 11-0. The Yanks would try to make it a game again with a solo shot from newly aquired Xavier Nady and then a 3 run shot off Johny Damon's bat 11-4. But then Huff got a homerun with 1 should have been two on but Markakis was called out an out of the zone pitch 13-4 Birds final. Jeremy Guthrie pitched great giving up 1 run in 6 1/3 and then COrmier faced some trouble giving up the 3 run shot. Jamie Walker's first game off the DL was a sucess as he pitched 1 1/3 hitless ball. Randor Bierd was good as well pitching 1 1/3 scorless innings. Tomorrow is a shot at redemption for Daniel Cabrera who must pitch well against NY to regain some momentum for the rest of his season. He faces NY's worst started Darryl Rasnor. Tune in and find out if the other Danny sticks it to NY and their lineup which can be potent if The Birds and their BIG O don't beat them up to bad. Should be tons of fun.

Game 2-3 vs ANgels

I missed game 2 but i do know Aubrey and Luke each went deep, the two premier home run hitters for the O's. They lost that game however 11-6. Game 3 was a different story. The O's behind a great start from lefty Garret Olson beat the Angels soundly 5-2 and finally picked up a win on Sunday. Bradford came in and got a double play. Johnson was sparkling in the eighth as was Sherill in the ninth. O's win on a Sunday for only the second time this season. Now the head to NY and battle the suddenly surging Yankee squad pushing for the playoffs. Hopefully the O's can throw them into a series loss maybe even a sweep. Game 1 tonight sees the O's send Jeremy Guthrie to the mound to battle Mike Mussina. Should be an interesting one.

Bad start vs ANgels

The O's made a valiant comeback but fell short and are now an off the radar six games under the even mark. Starter Brian Burres had his worst outing of the year gettin beat by two 2nd inning shots one solo one of the two run variety after he gave up two in the first off a double by Tori Hunter. He left after 1 2/3 giving up 5. The bullpen pitched remarkably well except for Chad Bradford who gave up 1 in an inning of work. Sarfate pitche 3 1/3 of no run ball. Lefty ALberto Castillo pitched 2 innings of no run ball and Johnson pitched an inning of no run ball. Solid work from the bullpen. Then Kevin Millar went deep to make it 5-1. The O's had a three run seventh to cut the lead to 1 but Brian Roberts could not get a much needed hit. Then each team scored one time in the final two innings but the Birds fell just short of a big comeback victory. Radhames Liz pitches tommorow and I think he can get back on track with a good outing. We'll see amd you never now what the outcome will end up being I think positivley so it should be a positive experience for a team that needs one. Tune in and find out.

Two finished out in Toronto Same Result

A rain postponed game was finished early today and with bad Defense and no offense the O's lost that game 5-1. kevin Millar gets the bad defense award as he overthrew the catcher on a potential inning ending double play which allowed two runs to score on that play and then another on a sac fly. The throw sailed high and Ramon could not glove it. The bats were silent in the games completion even though they threatened getting the first two on in the eight before Jones hit into a double play. Then vs the Jays ace Roy Halladay, the O's could only muster one run when it looked like they should have had three or four. Cabrera had a bad game even though he was killed by bloop hits all game long. Nick Markakis had an assist and is tied for the AL lead with 10 when he threw out Matt Stairs trying to tag and ended up with an inning ending double play. But the O's could not capitilize against who Jim Palmer calls one of the best in the AL Halladay who has an ERA under 3 now that's impressive. Daniel gave up all 7 runs and his ERA is now a not so good 4.86 while Halladay's is 2.82. Cabrera drops to .500 6-6 but really needs to have some quality starts after two very dissapointing ones vs Detroit and today. I believe he will because those bloop hits don't always drop. But he would have had to be very darn good today to win and he wasn't.

Redskins note: Skins sign Jason Taylor who will now wear the #55 and play Defensive end greatly boostin the team's pass rush because of the injury Phillip Daniels suffered which was season ending. Now the Skin's pass rush may be the best in the league. Hopefully Taylor will give you 10-15 sacks same from Carter and LB's and DB's will add some sacks too. We'll see but that right now looks like a great addition to the Defense and that line.

Game 2 Not So Good

In what was a good game for the O's bats it was a terrible one for their pitchers as they got rocked time after time. Things started off good witha two run shot off the bat of Nick Markakis and later a two run double by Mora the O's held an early 4-1 lead. Olson was going for the win but gave off a bases loaded base clearing double and left 5-4 chance to be the loser. Then Mora hit a two run blast game tied 6-6. Then Ramon Hernandez hit an opposite field shot over the big wall in right 7-6. Lefty reliever Alberto Castillo then gives up a three run dong 9-7. Jays add another run later 10-7. O's score in 9th and get the bases loaded with Ramon at the plate hit to tie and he flies out to shallow center. O's lose 10-8. Bad night for Olson and the pen good night for Mora bad one Hernandez and that does the Orioles in. They still can win the series but really need the next two. I hope they can get those two huge W's and we will find out. Early game thursday tommorow night at 7:00. Hope you tune in O's fans.

Game 1 vs Toronto a Smashing Success

When Liz took the mound every one in attendance was hoping he could come back from some bad starts and he certainly pitched well enough to win giving up 3 in 5 2/3 and he did get the victory behind a potent offense that put up 8 runs while hitting two round trippers one early 2 run shot from Adam Jones that put the Birds up for good and one late from Ramon Hernandez his 10th that put them up big. The bullpen pitched very well with Sarfate getting out of a bases loaded jam gettin Rios to fly out. Then Bradford Johnson and Bierd all picked up scorless innings in a great game from the pen. Now the O's will need that same type of Big O tonight as they send Garrett Olson to the mound a young lefty hoping to pitch well and stay in the rotation. Kevin Millar is really due expect him to hit one out any time now and get Huff and Mora aND Scott to go deep and get back to hitting the big fly. Olson needs to be on top of his game and the bats need to stay swinging hard towards the fences. Tune in tonight for game 2 vs Toronto and hopefully another much needed O's victory. GO O's!!!

Final game of series a sleeper

Well this game was full of lame at bats and no offense mixed in with a good outing by Burress and almost no base hits by the O's. The O's should have scored at least two after a Luke Scott triple but he was stranded at third after he got there with one out. Then Thames hit a shot just fair followed by a DOUBLE and a single that gave the Tigers a thrree -1 lead. The Detroit first run wass missed by an untimley showing of some stat that caused Burress to just throw a gimme shot to Magglio Ordones. The tigers would tack on two more and the final was 5-1 no makeing the O's 1-15 on SUnday, just terrible on that particular day. Now Toronto comes in and hopefully the Birds can get a four game sweep they so desperatley need to get back over .500 and start back on the winning track. They will Have Radhames Liz going and he needs a positive productive start. I'll be there, will you.

Biggest Comeback of Season Almost doomed by comebackers

After starter Daniel Cabrera really put the O's in a bad position they fought back gave it their all and won tonight in front of the home fans at Camden. Miguel Cabrera hit a three run shot and then the 3rd baseman hit a two run shot and all the sudden it's 6 nothing top first. But Mora hit a two run shot and after Detroit added another to make it 7-2 the O's had an eight hit 6 run 3rd and Mora popped out with the bases loaded. Then the O's would add another run to make it 9-7. Unfortunatley the bullpen wasn't very good with the combination of Sarfate and Cabrera giving up 3 runs to give Detroit a 10-9 lead. Then a huge hit happened with Ramon Hernandez leading off bottom 9th. Zumaya threw him a high heater and on a pitch out of the zone Ramon clocked one into left and into the stands 10-10. Then Sherill came out for the 10th and almost gave up a run a Sheffield comebacker but ADam Jones threw a line in from center and the runner was called out. Jim Palmer thought he was safe I didn't O's turn to bat. Then Millar softly grounded out and Luke Scott came to the plate. He did what all O's fans wanted at that moment and decked another pitch right onto Eutaw street in right a deep high blast that gave the O's the victory. Alot of people got down on Daniel but I still think he's a good pitcher who has superb outings at times and i don't mind him in my rotaion as much as a STeve Trachsel who really made me want to miss the O's games that he started. One thing I didn't like from daniel was his fielding on a little weak grounder he was slow to the ball and then bobbled it and you hate giving teams extra outs. He makes that play and the O's have way less to go to comeback but they still won so all I can say is HAHAHAHA watch out for the O's as Burres pitches tommorow as they have a chance to win the series 3-1. Good job Birdies!!!!

O's Big Bombs Doom Detroit

The O's pounded four long balls two from Luke Scott one Aubrey Huff and one from Melvin Mora to defeat Detroit in game two and tie the four game set. Luke tied the game at two with his first blast a solo one after Pudge hit a two run shot. Then Huff took one to straight away center that hit a covered up post game firwork setup. Guthrie got out of jams with huge double plays and he was getting unkind bloop hits left and right from the Tigers who otherwise would not have had many hits. Then Mora gave the O's the lead for good in the 6th with a two run shot off the top of the foul pole somehting Jim Palmer claims to never have seen in his 40 plus years of big league experience. Then in the eight Luke went deep again with a two tun shot off a hanging slider. Bradford got out of the seventh with a double play. Jim Johnson pitched a scorless 8th and Sherill picked up the save his 29th in the 36 chances with a scorless ninth. The O's play tomrrow with Daniel Cabrera toeing the rubber in a game they very much still need to take a chance to win the series 3-1 on Sunday. Hopefully the bats stay hot and Cabrera pitches deep without giving up too much. Tune in tommorow at 7:00 for a crucial game three vs Detroit. GO O's!!!!

Tough L after all star break for O's

In a game where both starters struggled Olson struggled a little more as the Birds fell from the sky 6-5. The O's took the lead scoring two but Sheffield hit a two run shot to tie. Then the O's went up 3-4 on Melivin Mora shot his 12th only for Brandon Inge to sneak out a two out pitch for another two run homer that ADam Jones just missed snagging. 5-4 Tigers. Thames would hit one out for Detroit 6-4. Then Jay PAyton robbed a Tiger of a homerun and in the ninth with Todd Jones on to close the O's threatened. Bases loaded with Huff up and one out Huff rockets one way back in center but Granderson reaches up to the top of the wall and brings it in, Mora scores 6-5. Then Millar gets two strikes early and grounds out weakly to 3rd to end it. O's fall even farther and need to run the table against Detroit to get there season back to respectablity. 3 staright aginst Detroit in Baltimore and the O's desperatley need all of them. WIll they step up and started the beating on Detroit or will their season be in the gutter early in the 2nd half. I'd like to see the O's get some good starting pitchin and hold some leads something they are very capable of doing with some good starting pitching. Guthrie tommorow so the Birds can fight for a victory for their ace. OH NUTS

All Star game.. #4where will you go

The all Start game featured many things great pitching, a couple of long balls, base stealing, an AL victory 10-0-1 in last 11 and extra innings. Matt Holiday started the scoring in the 5th with a solo shot and the NL added another run in the 6th. Then JD Drew started the AL offense up with a two run shot down the line 2-2. The NL scored again but the AL tied it up set up by an Evan Longoria double 3-3 extra innings. In the 15th this game was really long, Justin Moreneau scored on a sac fly off the bat of Michael Young. O's note Sherill pitched 2 1/3 scorless innings of work. ..... Brett Favre is on the verge of losing his starting job to backup Aaron Rodgers. Word is the Skins are interested in aquiring Favre. So what will happen will Favre end up in a new uni or on the pine in Green Bay waiting for a bad outing from Aaron. We'll see how this scenario ends up but some believe Favre throws to many picks to keep his job even though he has a ring and did take the Pack to the NFC title game. Darn that Skins defensive rookie of the year BIG O.

Home Run Derby the hot spot for all star party

One name for you for home run derby performances of all time Hosh Hamilton the Texas Ranger hit 28 out in the first round destroying the old mark of 24 by Bobby Abreu in 2005. Hamilton's long was 518 feet a monster shot. He had a few that all most left the yard entirley and since home runs carry over from round to round their is no doubt that Josh Hamilton will be crowned home run derby champ. Great Wonderful fantastic performance Josh as he goes to do something that does not happen all that often win the triple crown. Well this was a great event showing us again why all star games and events are always fun. Thanks for reading and hope you got to see Josh hamilton's 28 long balls in the first round alone, an all time record that might stand for a long time to come as we say good bye (not just yet but after this season) to Yankee stadium. If the Yankees dont make the playoffs the last game there will be vs the Baltimore Orioles. WOW!!! 28 deep ones for Josh in one round a truly marvelous showing in the Home run derby Demolition.

Final game before all-star break right down to the wire

Boy, that was a game. The O's gave up two controversial runs as Bynum had a throwing error early that cost the O's an out and a run. Then later Sean Casey was going to second and was clearly out on a throw from Adam Jones but the ump (gump) called him safe. 2-0 Boston. The Birds had numerous oppurtunities to score but failed every time but in the ninth a huge strikeout on ball four to Nick Markakis cost the Birds a chance to tie. So instead of the bases loaded with only one out Huff came to bat with Roberts on 2nd and Jones on first, both singled and Huff singled too. 2-1 Sox. Then Mora lined a ball up the middle but the 2nd baseman caught it. Ball game over SOx take two out of three vs B-MOre. Ouch. Daniel Cabrera pitched very well but had a very high pitch count and left after 4 1/3. The bullpen allowed nothing to be added but the Birds couldn't muster enough offense. Luke Scott hit a deep ball to right but it was caught on the warning track right in front of the 380 sign. Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched scorless ball in his stint and Papelbon did give up the one run. Should have been two but Nick could not lay off the high heater. Great Game. Birds fall to the Bo SOx and now it is time for the all-star game, midsummer classic and of course the Home Run Derby my personal favorite event of the festivities much like the slam dunk contest. Now i just have to pick someone in the derby maybe Prince Fielder. I dont think Huff is in the Derby. Well, have fun with the allstar break and go Gerorge Sherill the O's lone representative.

O's get whooped up on by Red SOx

This last game between the Birds and the SOx turned out ot be a blowout simply because The O's starter Liz threw to many juicy pitches to home run hitters and then later could not find the strike zone. Definitley Liz's worst start of his professional career. The argument could be made that he didn't have enough time to mature in the minors and was brought up too quickly. However, their was no such feeling of paranoia before last night's game because the starter had pitched very well until last night's dud effort. In the first he gave up back to back shots to Ramirez and Drew which appeared to really rattle his confidence, outlook, and approach. Then the O's came back to cut it to two one when Ramon Hernandez hit a shot that not only left the ball park but left the stadium entirley and landed on the street adjacent to the stadium. However the O's would get no closer than that as the next inning proved to be one Liz could not escape from as he walked two hit one and then gave up a blast to Youkilis a grand slam which made the game 7-1. Liz lasted just 2 and 1/3 of an inning and got shelled. Hopefully the young starter can bounce back and start making quality starts again becasue the O's really would like to see their young heat thrower become a fantastic pitcher and I believe he has the arm and guts to be one. He throws fastballs at 98 but he needs to locate a lot better and his slider can be unhittable at times. I know he feels terrible about his last performance but look for Liz to really have some quality starts in the future and get on a roll in terms of good efforts on the mound. the game ended up at 12-1 an embarrasing loss for the O's. The rubber game is today at 1:30 to see who will get to win the series. Go O's!!!

O's win first one in Bean Town

Behind a very solid effort from Brian Burress and a three for five out of B Rob (double single triple) the O's find a way to hold on and beat Boston 7-3. No home runs were hit in this game but the O's weren't lacking offense last night and really haven't been all year. The key hit of the game was after the Sox walked the bases loaded Brandon Fahey hit a huge two out single to drive in two on a three 1 count. The O's had a lot of sac flies and the Sox had a couple grounders that drove in runs but wothout Big Poppi they struggled against the lefty and the bullpen who pitched a scoreless 2 and 2/3 with Bradford Johnson and eventually SHerill who picked up a save. Tonight the O"s face knuckleballer Tim Wakefield and his off speed junk for Radhemes Liz and undefeated rookie. Let's go O's and score Liz some runs and stay up to win the series and go for a sweep of their own in the finale sunday. That makes the O's 4-2 against last year's world series champs. Not Bad. No, not bad at all.

Sherill gets blown away in 9th

The O's once again led the whole game until the ninth. They started smacking doubles early Markakis, Payton Mora Huff all doubled and gave the O's a three zip lead. The Blue Jays chipped back to make it three two. Then the O's loaded the bases for Mora later and he singled in two. Payton then singled the infield way and Ramon was held at third. 5-2 in the eight Jim Johnson uncharacteristically gives up two runs. 5-4 ninth with one Jay hitting a sac fly to tie it another Jay singled home the winning run past a diving Kevin Millar who I felt should have had that ball and sent the game into extra innings. Well the O's are swept up north in Canada and a dejected team that will head to Boston to play arguably the best team in the MLB for three before the All-Star break. The O's really need a series victory and even better a sweep of their own would be huge vs Boston and really give the team some much needed momonetum going into the break. Well They will give it their all in Boston. Too bad for now and the O's.

Toronto caught stealing wins

The Birds and the other Nirds are gonna battle out in a series finale befroe O and them head to Boston. The O's really need this victory and im sure with their ace pitching the will have a great shot. Guthrie takes the mound tonight vs Parish a former O. Expect Guthrie to go deep allowing minimal runs well the O's opffense tees off against Parish. They need homeruns, who will be the guy to supply the bombs. NO not Saddam, maybe Markaikis Roberts Jones or Millar will drive one deep in the finale. Stay tuned as one of the best on and off the rubber Githrie takes his team to battle the now maligned Toronto Blue JAYS. GO BIG O and the O's in that one.

Error in Toronto

The first inning started off with a Aubrey HUff blast, something people now expect from the power hitting DH his 18th of the year a solo shot. Then Adam Jones lined a double off the 3rd baseman's glove. Jones later doubled in Melvin Mora to make it 4-1 O's. The o's would take a commanding 6-2 lead going late into the ball game but the middle of Toronto's lineup is pretty dangerous with Wells Rios and Rolen and Stairs. Rios would come to bat with the bases loaded in the 8th and hit a bases clearing triple. Wells would single and tie the game. Then instead of an extra inning affair was not to happen because with two outs Rolen hit a grounder right at Bynum who who would lift his glove off the ground too early and allow the winning running to score. Tonight Olson faces Brunett in a game the O's definitley need to win.. I'll be there tonight in Toronto. Bynum gets the doody head dummy award for last night's game. Congradulations Freddie.

Skins going into 2008 strong Draft comments

Well tell you what, if the tight end the Skins drafted Fred Davis turns out to be anything like Cooley, we might have a two tight end one reciever package that can be very dangerous in the run and pass. The two recievers the Skins got hopefully have speed to go and get a really deep ball and also catch passes over the middle. Devin Thomas from Mich St and Malcolm Kelly from Oklahoma need twenty maybe thirty catches a piece and a bigger better year from Randle EL. I liked Cooley's contributions and a loved the constant thirty thirty five yard long ball that Moss so frequently grabbed last year. The only bad thing is that he always ran that faR never farther as Todd Collins thought he was about forty yards instead of thirty in that pick he threw in Seattle that was returned for a touchdown an absolut back breaker in the playoffs. Portis needs 1400-1500 yards out of the backfield and he should get that with a healthy line with Jon Jansen hopefully playing more than one game this year and Mike Caveman Sellers reurning to fullback to block for him. Another crusher in the SEATTLE Game was Shaun Suisham's kick from thirty five that sailed wide on him. HE needs to have a better year not that he was bad but that kick could have clinched a Skins advance in those 2007 playoffs. On the defensive side the loss of Sean Taylor will forever hurt the SKins. Hopefully his replacement will be a star too. I dont currently know who that person is it migth be Reed Doughty (WHO!). Uh OH. Laron Landry had a faboulous game in Seatlle and a great season. London Fletcher led the linebackers and The D line played admirable. The need to be a top 10 defense to return to the playoffs and a helathy Jason Campbell needs to lead a top 10 offense with fewer picks and more touchdowns. Look for the Skins to improve in 2008 My prediction 10-6 11-5 12-4 one of those three hopefully the last last one. Go SKINS!!!!

2 Out in Texas

Darnit, the O's floundered like fish in the final two in Texas. Brian Burres pitched well enough to win only allowing two runs yet a Jay Payton error allowed Ian Kinsley to come to the plate and deliver a 2 run shot that never should have occured. That put Texas on top to stay and they won game two. Radhames Liz pitched poorly in game three marred by a three run shot by David Murphy. More bad defense occured when Freddie Bynum threw a possible double play inning ending throw to first past Kevin Millar and opened the door for another big inning by Texas. The O's tried valiantly to come back with Brian Roberts, Melvin Mora, Kevin Millar, and Nick MArkakis all going deep. Millar almost homered earlier but settled for an off the top of the wall double. O's are now only one game above .500 as they move to Toronto for another three game set. My prediction, O's SWEEP. Let's see how things go vs the Blue Jays in Toronto. Tecas leads the season series 4 to 2. Nice job on the homeruns in the final game but not enough. Texas 11 O's 10. Ouch.

The Redskins really won the Super Bowl...

The Reskins hold the advantage over the Super Bowl champion NY Giants because they won the game by 10 while NY won by 7 and that seevn was only a yard away for the Skins. Unfortunatlet, Jason Campbell #17 had four fumbles against runner up New England in a game that turned into a shame beacuse of turnovers in a game that should have been much closer. So the Skins can say they hold last seasons advantage over the NY Giants because of combined score aka rollover points, kind of like rollover minutes ona cell phone deal. Professional sports unfortunatley for the Orioles this year does not use rollover runs because the O's continually pound opponents and their losses are usually by one or two runs. Congardualtions Skins for holding the point advantage over the NFC East. GO SKINS.

The 4th of July Fireworks and Festivities

My Blogs first post coincides with the first day of the USA. Well, the O's put another huge beating on an opponent, this time vs the Texas Rangers who earlier this year beat Bmore 2 out of 3. The O's won the first game of a three game set and hope to win if not sweep the series vs Texas. The O's were led by a strong performance By Jeremy Guthrie, their ace, who picked up his 5th win of the season. No homeruns were hit in this game but the Orioles bullpen was a virtual home run after Bukvich who has been shaky. Sarfate and Johnson each pitched an inning of scorless hitless relief. This win pushed the O's to 3 games above five hundred. In other news, the Nats lost to Cincinatti three nothing. In Basketball news, the Wiz resigned Agent Zero to a new 6 year 111 million dollar contract and ANtwan Jamison to a 4 year 50 million dollar contarct, so the Wiz will be just about the same team as last year but hopefully this time with a healthy Arenas. In all likely hood they will be in the playoffs again hopefully with a better seed so they won't have to face Lebron and Cleavland so early next time.
