O's Swing Past Nats

The Birds had the bats swingin again tonight although a little harder than usuasl as they blasted 3 round tripperes Zaughn a solo shot his third part of a 3 hit noight and backup catcher. Reimold blasted a 3 run shot high and deep for his 9th that gave the bIrds a 4-3 lead and Huff a solo shot to add another run and make it 5-3 his 10th. Roberts addded a sac fly to make uit 6-3 and that was the final. Guthriw got into a real jam but allowed 2 in the first but it could have been worse. He left after 5 due to a high pitch count allowed 3 runs and won the game now being 6-7 and on his way to a .500 record. Albers got 2 huge gorund ball outs after Bass loaded the bases without retiring anyone Mora fielded clumsily and threwq to home to reocrd an out and then a DP was turned no runs and that was amazing by Labers. Johnson 2 innings scorless and SAHerill the save in the ninth his 16th and the bullpen other than Baez and Bass has been on fire although Bass was really bailed out tonight by ALbers. if CHris Ray can rehaoin his once brilliant form this bullpen had a chance to be one of the best and Bass i like the guy but nothing positive for him in this one. O's take first 2 games of tehs eeries and go for a sweep Sunday with hernanfdez taking Koji spot who looks like he's headed back to the DL and for him that's negative although he has pitched well but when you say again and DL the guy is now struggling with injuries hey they throw more pitches in AMerica than in Japan and apparently it's rough on his arm. Birds now 34-40.

O's Crush Nats

The O's won 11-1 and had an 8 run inning just incredible as they send 13 men to the dish. A lot of people got off bad streaks at the plate as Jones had 3 hits a 3B 2B 1B Markakis had 3 hits and Mora 4 RBIs Reimold had 3 hits as well and Witers crushed a ball that i think went right over the oul pole but it was ruled foul oh well and that ball almost landed outside the ballpark. Bergesen was greta going six allowing 1 ER and the bullpen was falwless as Baze a scorless innings ALbers adn SHerill the same adn the Biurds win game 1 of the 3 game set 11-1.

Well this series lacked a good game since the opner and the last one was the worst and most lopsisded for O's as they fall 11-3 and only could score runs in the 9th when it was already to late FLoridsa had 3 home runs 2 2 runners and Hanley's second grand slam of the sewitres aas Hill and the bullpen were ruffed up next up th Nats who the Birds like to play because it boosts attendance as fans form both teams will be in Bmore,.

US Stuns Spain Birds drop

The Us shocked Spain scoring an 27th minute goal by Jozy ALtidore who used his body to shield a defender then drove through the box firing a shot off the goalie's hand hit the post on the inside and bounced in. Then Dempsey would kick in a pass through the box by Donovan which a Spain player tried to gather and clear but while he gatherd Depsey snuck up on him and kciked the ball into the back of the ent 2-0 US and taht was the final Us will play either Brazikl or South AFrica.Berken allowde 1 Er in 5 innings but a bad D play cost the Biurds another run. ALbers allowed a few more and Marakakis and Mora had rbi singles but the bIrds fall 5-2 and try to avouid the sweep today.

O's can't cpmlete Comeback

O's trailed big after a grand slam by Ramirez Hanley but they get the tie in the top of the ninth and tie it at 6-6 but in the 12th the mralins score the winning run. WIters hit a deep opoosite filed homerun his 2nd and bthe homers have been opposite field shots. Scott and Salazar had pinch hits in the ninth and the Birds WIters and rbi dsingle Wigginton and rbi single and Salazar an rboi single the bad news was that the O's used all their pich hitters and when they threatend in extra innnings Rich Hill had to be called on to PH and that ususally doesn;t work. Roberts doubled leading offf the game and scored on a NIck sac fly. Roberts also drove one in but on a DP ball. Uehara was strong going 6 allowing 1. Baez got ruffed up .1 allowing 5 and that's not good for the Era Ray a scorless 1.2 getting called up from AAA and Johnson 2 scorelss Bass 2 innings one allowed. The Birds had their chances but like i said they ghad no one on the bench oin a big chance to win but Rich Hillauint the guy you want swingin the bats for you and they lose 7-6 with Berkebn going tonight.

O's sweep Phils US adavbnces in COnfedrations Cup

The Birds had a great pitch job from Guthrie as he went 7 innings allowing a solo homerun but that was i. He left and won the game as JOhnson pitched a 0 run 8th and Sherill 0 runs in the 9th for hois 15th save. a Jones single scored roberts and a roberts single scored andino and the final was 2-1 as the O's sweep the defesniing world champs 3-0. Hamels pitched real well but lost and the Birds get tommorow off before heading to FLorida. Uehara will pitch the openr in that one and the Birds have won 5 in a row and are now 32-37. US beta Egypt 3-0 and tie with Italy and Egypt but have the ebst goal differtianial. so they advance to next roud vs Spain.

Birds Bust Phils United falls ugly

The BIrds are now riding a 4 game W streak. Beregsen was effective but bad bullpen work from Baez as he allowed a 3 run dinger from Ryan Howard gave the Phils a 5-3 lead. But in the 9th Zaughn It's zaughn hit a solo shot Salazar got a pinch hit and Roberts blasted a 2 run shot ghis 7th to give the Birds back the lead 6-5 the O's led 3-0 on Huff rbi double a Roberts sac fly and a Roberts bases loaded walk. Brad 6.1 allowing 4 beaz .2 allowing 1 Albers a .1 nothing .2 Hendrickson nothing and SHerill got his 14th save owing the ninth. Birds now 31-37 with Guthrie pitching today Birds going for the sweep. In United's game one man single handedly beat the DC kickers Omar CUmmings socred twice and assisted another constantlt juking DC defense and freeing himself up for wasy scores on time a through ball allowed him through clean beating the goalie on a sidestep and firimng in and the just had to be more onto this guy not allowing him to use his gretas peed and moves but he did three times and all three ended up in goals and United falls 3-0 heading into their by week.

O's beat Phillies 7-2

Rich Hill pithced well and even added an rbi single in a big 3 run inning for the Birds as they struck back as Philly plated 2 in the second. Wieters had a 2 rbi double. Hiff doubled home a run Reimold a solo shot deep out in the bleachers then Markakis added a 2 rbi double for insurance runs as the O's won it 7-2. Hill 6.2 of 2 run ball and he really settled down after a shaky first. Johnson a 1.1 scorless effort and SHerill a solid ninth allowing 0 runs. Hill is now 3-1 and proving he can pitch. Tonight for Baltimore is Brad Bergesen and he has been on some roll really neing effective in his ladt handful of outings. Reimold's blast was his 8th and he leads all rookies in that catgory.

O's beat Mets win series NHL Awards

The O's have been bad in finale's this season 4-17. Well now they are 5-17 after blowing a 2 run lead and trailing 4-2 the score in the eight and then 2 in the ninth to beat K Rod the single season saves record holder at 62 with angels last year but he walked a couple and gave up hits and the O's scored one when JOnes walked in a run the Markakis struck out but Huff came through with the gamewwinning single as Reimold who had walked scored and the O's win 5-4. ANdino hit his first Oriole homerun off a hanger Roberts doubled home a run. WIters led off the ninth with a double and had 2 hits now batting 259 Luke drove a run in but got robbed of a hit as there 2nd baseman made 2 greta defesnive plays once to rub HUff a a 2run single and then on Scott. Berken pitched great through 5 but allowed 2 in the sixth and 2 in the seventh and got no decisioned. Beaz pitched 1.1 no runs and ALbers a scorles ninth and he gets the win. Those 2 guys along with Sherill and Johnson make upa real strong bullpen i think all of them have a 3 something Era and that's real good and Bass has benn good too. Next up the Phillies in Philly.

O's beat Mets in second game

The O's looked like they wanted to hit tonight. They were patient they hit good pithces and scored 6 runs on 2 2 run homers by Wieters his career first and Huff who hadn't hit 1 in a few weeks his 9th. Markakis was 4-4 all singles but he was hittoimg it where they wernt and has been on fire in this series going 6-8 and had a steal. Mora had a rbi single as did Huff and Uehara was good allowing just 2 runs in 5 innings i thinked he was pulled an inning too ealry leaving after the 5th he should have started the 6th. Bass did and he loaded the abses with 1 out then Hendrickson a surprise move Dave. "Yeah he's not our sitruational lefty Castillo is but i gave him the oppurtunity and he gave up that first walk but then got the DP ball so that's pretty good. Jonhson 7th and 8th scorless. Sheffield a bomb and SHerill his 13th save as he got the 3 outs in the ninth. Berken tonight.

O's drop 1 vs Mets

With a team needing a vitory bad the O's struggled badly defesnvley and made 3 errors allowin 3 uneraned runs and lost 6-4. Markakis blasted a 2 run ding dong over the right field big wall and a late 9th innings flurry gave them 2 more but with the tying runs on 2nd and third K Rod struck out Adam Jones and the game was final. Roberts struck out with the bases loaded earlier on a ball out of the zone and committed an erorr on A DP ball where he could not glove the rock as it took a skip hop off his wrist. Huff dropped a pop fly in the Vermuda trrinagle area that he or ORberts could have snabbed as the booth thought Roberts should have called off Huff but he didn't. The error Reimold commited was a bad throw to home that the catcher could not control and the Birds lose one needing a win bad. They can still win the series and that's what they want to do.

O's Bust Braves US falls to Italy

Ty WIgginton had a great day blasting 2 homeruns the offesne was hitting and Bergesen continued his roll of impressive outiongs going all 9 innings allowing just 2 runs. The O's got 15 hits one being a big 2 run double that Andino hit deep to center and the Braves just 5 hits. Brad is now 4-2 and pithcing really well. The O's start a series vs the Mets tonight. In soccer US got a first haldf one 0 lead when ALtidore was fouled in the box and if he had not been he probably would have socred so Donoivan scores the PK but this was all after REicardo CLark was given a red card for a bad challenge but it shopuld have been yellow and the US with 10 men were vulnerable and Italy scored on 2 long well placed shots that beat the keeper and then real late US hit one just over the cirssbar and Italy would add a late goal and win 3-1. Us has remining games vs Brazil and Egypt and need wins.

United beats Chicago O's Bust Braves

The United an impressive 2-1 victory over Chicago and now are in sole posession of first place in the East. MOreno socred a PK with a nice rocket in because their goalie Liu Knag scissor kicked Pontius on a pro,misong run. Chicago would tie on a good shot but United would get a free kick right outside the box and Gomez would blast it past the outsreched goalie for a 2-1 lead. Then CHcoiago would get a PK but Wicks dov and blocked outa greta save he had another ona rush and stepped right in front of the shooter and dfelcetd it away from the ent. Gomez would blast a rebound off the post and that was it United wins and takes first for now in the East. The O's behind the strength of a first inning homerun from Jones his 12 a 2 run shot and Roberts would add a 2 run double and Jones a sac fly and the BIrds win it 8-4 now going for a series victory witha win today. A couple of weel played games that get the local teams wins.

O's struggle severly vs A's

You can say the A's are bringing their a game in this series banging out 9 runs in the first two winninh 9-1 and 9-4. Berken and Guthrie both got roughed up early making it a real tough games to win. Scott hit a solo shot in the first game his 13th and Reimold a 3 run blast in the second game his 6th but other than those two bright spots things have been bad in Oakland. The O's try to avoid the sweep today and they need a win.

United gets W vs Red Bulls NY

In a match where United got some great chances they converetd 2 into goals one in the 36th minute on a throw in two consecutive headers that found teammates then Fred blowing past a defender taking the ball down near the goialine and feeding it through the box to Santino Quaranata who had an easy tap in caused by him hustling to the net to flick it in. WIcks agagin was very good in net getting the shutout once snuffing out a Red Bull who was looking to have a great opputunity byut his fuirst touch sent the ball dribbling beteween his legs and off his body when Wikcks would slide into the ball and cover it up. New Yorks best other chance cae late when a cross ball was one touched low toward the corner but Wicks got his hand on it and made the huge late save. Moreno would create a late charge and find Gomez who deked around the gaolie but the goalie skid ibto him and knocked him down resulting ain a penalty kick which Moreno netted and the final was 2-0. One buit opf bad news is that EMilio got a red card meaning he will have to miss United's next matxch. he was substituded for after having a yellow card and was upset and threw some water bottles some of which klanded on the field. But stilla good game from United and they get the 3 pouints.

The O's beat Mariners in game 1

The O's behind an extraordinary pitchoing perfromance beat Seattle 1-0. The lone run was scored after Jones doubled he thought the ball was gonna be caught so he wasnt hustling off contact but it flew over the firlders head and hit the wall Jones saw an oppurtubity to go to sceond and beat the tag with an elsuive slide. Markakis singled him to third and Aubrey delviered a deep fly ball to score Jones. That was the only run socred the whole game. Rich Hill worked his way out of a couple of jams after Ichiro led off with a double and went to third ona misplace throw by reimols who threw to sceond with nobody coveruing but Hill would get apop out a strikeout and a popout and not allow Ichiro acorss the plate. He went seven innings of shutout ball then Johnsona perfect 8th and SHerill a perfect ninth and the O's at one point retired the final 20 batters in a row. Hill is now 2-0 and Sherill his 11th save. Who will Koji replace in the roation with all starters right now throwig well. I have no clue and am clusless as to who will go to the minors and who will stay in the 5 man roation.
