Redskins Beat Dallas in NFC Rivalry Match

I just loved this game. Moss was big. Portis was HUGE and Cambell and the offense were not gonna turn the ball over in this one either as the SKins win 26-24 over hated Dallas (Alice). Portis rushed 21 times for 121 yards for a 5.8 avg. Barber the other RB rushed only 8 times for 26 yards as pass happy Dallas tried to pitch and catch their way to victory but did not. Romo threw for 300 but the game was all but over as the SKins held a 9 point advantage late in the fourth. Dallas would score and then try the onside kick but could not recover it. Moss caught 8 balls for 145 yards. The big offensive lineman Casey Rabach had not one but two huge penalties both on plays that were TDs called back. One was a phantom hold the other ineligle lineman downfield. Skins had to settle for a FG. Dallas had 2 sacks and the SKins none as Jason Taylor was missing due to injury but the SKins did get in Romo's face and forced erreant throws and Chris Horton's 3 pick for the rookie who is now starting in place of Reed Doughty. TO was held to 7 catches for 71 yards (Timeout TO is that all you could do in the biggest game of the NFL season thus far. The SKins outgained Dallas 381-344 total yards and Springs Smoot and Rogers all were slapping passes away from Dallas WRs. Smoot and SPrings both suffered minor injuries and I pray they will be back vs Philly another NFC East game on the road for the SKins in their first 5 games (3 of them). The Skins need another flawless performance and they need another win because then they face 3 weaker opponents in Detroit St. Louis and the Browns. If they can beat Philly they may just go 7-1 in the first half of the season. That would be awesome for the Skins players and Coach Zorn (Jay-Z).

Terps beat another ranked opponent

The Terps knocked off #20 Clemson on the road. They were led by 3 turnovers one a muffed punt one a lateral by the QB and one pick that was at the end of the half that didn't help. The Terps trailed 17-6 at half but then Derius Heyward Bey ran a reverse for 75 yards and then the Terps threw a TD. Later after 2 great cathces by Quendo the Terps scored another TD and then led 20-17 which would be the final. The Terps had a TD early in the game but it was called back on a procedure penalty and that hurt but they still found a way to deliver the knockout blow. The Terps had the ball at the end and needed some firts downs to kill the clock and they got just that the final one a slant to Darrell Scott the RB for a first on a nifty pass form QB Chris Turner.Clemson was shutout in the 2nd half after running the ball very well in the first.Ekeze kicked 2 FG one form 23 and one form 30. Torrey SMith caught that six yard TD from turner.Turner was 16-30 for 172 and had some balls he threw a little too high and hard early but settled down. Tyler a Freshman played great and had 4 catches and is a budding start for the Terps.

Dixon back in DC O's play hard but still lose

The O's had another starter go deep and then give up a couple still a quality start by Waters but rain and runs ended that game for the O's as they were shutout 3-0. Juan Dixon has resigned with the WIzards and is back in DC. He shoould start at point with the injury to ARenas. I would love to see Juan Juan at PG but Daniels is no slouch. Jason williams PG has retired and is done with the NBA. Thanks for the memories white chocolate. Jeremy Guthrie will start the season finale on sunday because he has asked Trembley to play him and thta desire should bode well for Guthrie in the future and I expect a good start from him.

No cryin in baseball no winning either i guess

The BIrds can't win. They have another 1 vs Tampa and then 3 vs Toronto. Rookie starter Alfredo Simon pitched well enough to win 7 2/3 3 runs but the pen got whipped especially Walker and the Birds los after holding a 5-1 lead going into the eigth. A heartbreaker. The Birds jsut can't hold on and now they must show some heart and play tough for their Final Four. One note Mora who was so hot has not been playing but Montanez has played well along with Salazar who will most likely replace Millar in next years lineup and Montanez as well replacing Payton. The rotatoion is still up in the air with Liz going tommorow. The addition of Witers would be much anticipated beacause alot of people say they like what they see out of the catcher. The two replacements i meantioned should help the O's offensivley because both players have showed good talent in the times tehy have been on the field for the Birds.

Redskins throw Ace Vs Cards

The SKins topped a tough Arizona team which came in undefeated and the Redskins wanting badly to win. The SKins move up to 2-1 and next face Dallas on the road. The SKins held down Boldin a very good wideout. Fitzegerald there other WR went deep on them for a socre but that wasn't good enough to beat the SKins whose best play was a Carlos Rogers Pick which he reurned 42 yards to the Cards 15 then Moss caught a screen and went in for the score and put the SKins up for good. Kedric Golston got a sack and Carter and Mcintosh plit one. Rogers recovered a James fumble. Campbell completed 23-20 for 193 and two TDs one to Yoder and one to Moss. The Skins have yet to turn the ball over other than on special teams when Randkle El fumbled. 3 games 1 turnover very good. They have forced five for a plus four trunover rating. Portis ran 21 times for 68 yards and a score. Campbell used his legs very efeectivley running 4 times for 26 yards. Moss and COoley racked 7 catches a piece Moss 75 yards Cooley 72. Devin Thomas had a long TD called back on a dumb penalty by Stephon Heyer. Main thing was Skins beat a quality opponent and now look to rally set the record straight vs Dallas. Devin Thomas caughta pass for 7 and ran a reverse for 16 yards good things for a rookie. Now Dallas and TO look to stop the streaking SKins but I see Washington outplaying another qualified contender so look out for the Skins because they are really playing well. They have enough offensivley and defensivley to give Dallas more than they can handle and pave the way for a great season in the Seemingly too tough NFC East. Suisham missed a 52 yarder after Campbell tripped on and offensive lineman on 3rd and 8 and that would have iced the game.

Orioles Lose Last two in Toronton Lose game 1 in final series at Yankee Stradium

Aubrey Huff hits his 32nd and the O's lead 6-0 in game 2 but fall one run short. The O's lose game 3 by 1 run as well. Both teams scored the same amount of runs in the seres but the Blue Jays won 2 games. Olson pitched well in game 3 and Brian Bass pitched great until the 5th. He was shutting out the Jays until they put up 5 in the 5th. Really dissapointing. Then the BIrds come out and take an early two run lead. Luke Scott gets robbed of 2 home runs one stolen by the center fielder and one just wide of the foul pole and that was crucial. Just one would have made this an extra inning affair. Liz pitched great but a wild pitch did him in. There were many complaints that Hernandez does not block balls very well and I agree. Maybe he should practice keeping balls in front of him. Nick Markakis was thrown out trying to score an extra run on an Aubrey Huff single but was gunned down. That hurt. Adam Jones stole a base and is 9/12 in steals and Castro hit a leadoff double but was starnded as Brian Roberts bunted him over. The infield came in with Castro at 3rd but Markakis hit a ball at 2nd and Castro did not score.

Great Pitching gives O's W

Chris Waters did it and it was a complete game shutout four hitter variety. Luke Scott balsted his 23rd a solo shot and Waters pretty much did the rest. He had 3 K's. Brian Roberts doubled home a run. The O's recxived the 2nd great start by Waters his first vs a great ANgels team. All these young starters the Birds have really need to play hard and pitch well to try and earn spots on next year's rotation guys like Liz and Waters and Olson even Burres. Well Waters earned a big W and is now 3-3. Keep playin hard and workin to win O's and show the league something these last couple weeks. Great win and especially great pitching.

Skins whips Saints and gets HUGE W

Campbll was huge Cooley was big Moss was great and Portis fantastic. Cambell threw for 321 with one TD and was 24-36 66%. Portis 21 carries for 96 yards and 2 TD. Moss caught 7 for 164 Cooley 5 for 72 Randle el 4 for 53 Malcolm kelly caught 1 his first for 6 yards and Fred Davis did the same. Thrash had 1 for 8 but the SKins screens were inneffective. Chris Horton started for zRedd Doughty and had 2 picks and a Fumble recovery. Jason Taylor made his contribution with a sack and a tipped pass and corneklius Griffin the big tackle had a sack as well. Bush returend a punt all the way and Suisham missed 2 kicks one not his fault but the ST needs to be better. washington faces ARizona nezt week and needs to keep winning as it is in the NFC EAST TOP DIVISION IN THE LEAGUE with Dallas Philly Giants and Skins. Keep it going SKins this is still early.

Maryland easily defeats Cal for big W

The Terps won big against a ranked opponent. Cal was 23rd. No longer. The Terps jumped out 28-6 and this one was a laugher even though the final margin was 8. Both staring running backs got put out of action. Cal's Jahvid Best was roughed up by CB number 2 Barnes but returned. Darrell Scott was put out for good in the third quarter. Chris Turner was 15-19 for 156 yards and 2 TD's with no picks.Davin Meggett rushed 13 times for 82 yards his long was 38 and he scored once. Scott rushed 19 times for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns. Some freshman also got carries but did little. Heyward Bey caught 2 passes and scored once and Gronkowski the tight end caught for and had 1 TD. Okendo and Watson also were ibnvolved in the passin cacthing 2 and 3 balls. Maryland's D had 1 pick by Barnes and 5 sacks and were pressuring Cal well. The Terps move to 2-1 and face Eastern Michigan next. BIG WIN for the Fridge and company.

After Big Win O's O Fails

The Birds hit four bombs last night two in the ninth but tonight behind shaky starter Liz who allowed 4 in 4 2/3 the O's could not make many hits. You here terms like bloop and a blast well they needed 3 of those in the ninth so they were behind big late 6-1 your final. the Indians managed scoring a single run in six different innings meaning the O's stayed out of trouble but still ended up in a bad position. They started a semi-rally in the ninth after Jones got an infield hit Nick and Huff were both retired and then Ramon hit a single down the line if he was faster it night have been two and then Millar hit a tower to center. Scott led one inning off with a double but didn't score after Castro was retired on a ball down the line to the wall that was caught and Huff also had a double. Not many hits for the Birds i think 6. Mcrory in his first appearance in the bigs pitched a great ninth but Cherry and Sarfate each gave up a run proving to put the O's in a real bad position as oppose to keep it close late with a rally giving you the tie or a win but that didn't happen as the bullpen along with Liz was not to par in this one. O's play tommorow with Waters and then making his big league debut afellow named Bass. So how those 2 do in a view of the competion to remain a starter for the Birds with Liz not helping his case tonight.

Redskins Season off to Slow STart for the O

The Redskins defense did everything it could to keep the game close except catch interceptions. Fred SMoot did pick one ball off but there were two dropped picks that would really have helped them one by Smoot and one by Landry. Plaxico did his best and had a great game making swell catches left and right despite tight coverage. Jason taylor played but not great and Shawn Springs sat out which hurt the Skins at corner. The thing that hurt the SKins was penalties and not being able to complete a screen pass other than the last play of the game when it was too late. The Skins too many times ended up with fourth and ones becasue recievers could not get that much needed yard after the catch. Jason Campbell was 15-27 for 133 yards and a touchdown to Moss. Portis ran 23 times for 84 yards and Betts once for 0. Portis did berak a 23 yarder. Cooley caught a screen he took about 23 but it was called back on offsetting penalties. That was a huge blow. Randle El had 7 catches for 73 yards and Moss had 5 grabs for 37 yards. Betts Cooley and Devin Thomas each had a catch Betts for 11 Cooley for 7 and Thomas for 5. Landry and Carter split a sack and Chris Wilson had one of his own and the Giants got a sack on the first play but their vaunted pass rush only got 1 sack while the Skins had 2 and almost more on a couple occasions. Rock Cartwright had one 50 yard return which sparked the only Td drive for the SKins and one 37 yard return. Randle El could do nothing on punt returns. London Fletcher led the team with 17 tackles 12 solo. 0-1 for the Skins as they face the Saints next Sunday at 1:00 a game the need to win badly and one in which the Offense needs to be alot better in order to win.

Orioles Season Spirals Downward

The O's just got swept by the Sox (Red) and before that were swept by Tampa. Mora hurt his hammy is out about another five days (can't lose a hot hitter like him). Aubrey now has 30 dingers and was robbed by Ellsbury today of his 31st. Guthrie was skipped in the rotation due to dead arm. Cormier and Sarfate wer4e fantastic blanking the Sox for 6 but then Jamie Walker got hit up for to runs as did Ricky CHerry and Jim Miller had a terrible throw tryin to get the lead runner but threw the ball away. O's lose 5-4 and are swept. They nexy face Oakland and all to look for now is long balls bu Huff who has the most on the team. They play Friday and have a double header Saturday. The Skins are predicted by many to go 11-5 and the score for the opener against the Giants is 27-13. My dad predicted that I said 20-27 both favoring the Skins to win as NY lost 2 great pass rushers.
