Caps Burnt by Flames

The Caps got beat badly in the 1st 4-0 and couldnt mount the comeback as they fall 3-5 vs Calgary but what is improtnat is how they bounce back heading into the final handful of ga,mes up next Ottawa comes to DC and The caps need to play their best and show the desire to grab NHL best title and head strong into the big games the playoffs. The Caps came back from 2 down to force OT and a SO but only got a point but hey when youre top dog in the NHL one point feels like it helps and it does but Chicago loses big tonight and they are closets to the Caps and that helps too. Caps are happy about that but they shouldnt fret over 1 point i still think they will have the most points come seasons end. a memorable for JOhn Carlson scoring ghis fuirts ever NHL goal now to the goals a blast slapper put the Canes on top low corner then the Canes struck again on a quick wrister but the Caps came back when Smein fired a wrister 5 hole and into the back of the net his first shot hit Tomas in the behind but he ggot the rebound and whipped it in his 35th from Falsh and B Morrison then Carlson joined the rush deked to his forehand and sent it 5 hole into the net his 1st ever from Chimera and Erskine the SO had Nik score first and Ovie could have ended it but his attempt wasnt clsoe then Smeyon couldnt win it so Semin had the chance and he didnt convert then Canes score then Green misses a wrister and that eneded it Canes win it in OT next up for Caps Calgary SUnday at 3:00 Caps looking to go back to their winning ways and number 50 W on the year. Caps Penalize Penguins

The Caps Pens now a huge rivalry but it has been all Caps this year they won tonight inside Verizon and have won all 3 meetings vs Pittsburgh this year and they beat them overall 6-5 last year thats 9-5 Caps total the last two seaosns including playoofs in this one Pittsburgh had 5 pps Caps 1 and i know the POens deserved about 5 penalties they were getting away with everything but hey its the nhl it happens i guess this one went to OT then the SO and the Caps were down 2-0 but they roared back and won 3-2 in the SO big win for the Caps who are gunning for the Presdiednts trophy thats most points in the regular season and they are almost a lock to get it the way they are playing favcing as tough a test tonight as their is in the NHL and they passed and shot with flying colors. Caps Beat Chicago

The Caps treailed big in this one 0-3 but they have come back from large deficits before this season and down 3 heading to the 3rd they croed 3 and in OT scored again. a big story in this one was Ovie smacking a Hawk into the boards headlong and he got 5 minute major and was tossed but the rest of the Caps rallied and played real well in the 3rd getting many chances and they win it 4-3 The goals. The hawks scored 3 a d breakdown left a hawk alone in front and he was fed the puck and scored then they hit a post in bounced in front and a hawk had a lwyup then a slap pass to the slat was redirected into the low corner then it was all Caps Brooks scored ona jmjuicy rebound he sent into the back of the net his 22nd from Green adn Nik then Nik lit the lamp on ajuicy rebound he got to it between hawks and sent high middle swish his 27th from Corevo and Green then it was Fehr who got a pass from behind the goal and he wristed a wuick one moddle far side and hit net his 18th from Steckel and carlson 3 goals in 2:16 minutes then Nik would throw a pass that was picked but he would get back and blocka shot get the rebound and take it coast to coast curkl and drag around a d and wrist a fast one 5 hole and into the back of the net his 28th unassisted. Caps Clap Caines

This game needed an OT but then the Caps would get 2 points not just one like they had to last game and they skate off with a 3-4 OT win On Carolina's visit to DC and Verizon. I think the Cpas should have got some more PP time but numerous infratcions were not enforced and Caines were getting away with some penalties. Jose was soilid not great but if youre a Caps goalie and you only let in 3 chances are OT or a win. Goals the first was Semin on a long lead he broke away and deked backhand and shoveled it high top corner and into the net. his 31st from B Morrison adn Carlson. The Caps had the great goaltending in this one which led to Jose first SO of the year he was excellent all night making some real 10 bellers and he never let in a goal the whole noight impressive. a 5 on 3 saw the Caps score with 3 tick left in it and then some nice passing led to another new comer scoring Belanger scored 0-2 was the final. The Caps played this one with some new editions and one paid huge dividends Walker scoring twice and the Caps won 4-5 in front of the home crowd some where they havent been in 24 days Semyon in net made some important svaes and Corvo got his teammates respect early with a hughe hit along the boards Belanger showed speed and d but i was unhappy without Stecks and Brads they guys play well and deserev a spot in the lienup. the Caps played well and scored some big 3rd period goals and beat a southeats rival. THE GOALS the first was the first was Fehr when he stole a pass at mid ice and went to the wing then fired a quick hard wrister over the shoulder of the netminder and top corner hit net his 16th unasssidted. The Wiz hit the big shots down the strectch 2 big jumpers from Foye and a rebound slam form Javale and that was enough as the lead the NEts had most of the night was gone and the Wiz win it 89-85 in NJ. Blatche another big night he played real well as has been the case the last 2 weeks solid D helped the Wiz cause tonight and the Nets coming off a big win in beantown couldnt hold the lead.
