Hoyas Take Down Villanova

In snow packed DC the game went on and the Hoyas played about as good as you can on the O side D was good especially on d ing up the 3s and the Hoyas give Nova their foirst big east loss 90-103. Calrk was huge in this one nailing his first 6 3 balls and Freeman and Monroe picked the slack because Wright was in fopul trouble and wasnt scoring at his normal clip. Stats Vaughn 3-5 13 pts 3 reb 3 ass 2 blk and he is the complimenatary big man to Monroe and he usually gives Gtown a boost Monroe 4-9 19 pts 8 reb 6 ass a stl 2 blk Wright 2-6 7 pts 3 reb 3 ass a stl Freeman 8-12 25 pts a reb 3 ass a stl Clark 8-11 24 pts 3 reb 2 ass 2 strl a blk and the hoyas led this one by as much as 21 but Wilcats cut it to 10 but real late and the Hoyas were never really threyaned Hollis 2-4 12 pts 5 reb 3 ass and he is the only threat the Hoyas have off the bench cuz Benimon is more of a rebounder d man he had 3 pts a reb a ass 2 blk and thats the Hoyas roation 7 guys usually for the majority and with Wright and his fouls the hoyas broke the press reppeatdely and manged not to start getting tos and making this close again overall 27-48 56.3% 3s 10-19 52.6% fts 39-50 78% 24 boards 21 dimes 5 stl 7 blk 20 tos and one thing they did real well was take the charges i think 3 or 4 times that they got posotion on a driver had their feet set and got bowled over so that was helpful. Hoyas now 17-5 they beat Duke now Nova but lost to USF and they will jump up in the rankings beatoing #9 and today #2 if only they had held on in that USF game they would be top 3 i tyhink maybe now 5 or 4 but they are a great team when they play their game and thats finding the open man for 3 4 guys are good at that Chris Austin Jason adn Hollis and of ourse some solid post play trebounding and blokcs from greg and Julian.
